Dr B R Shetty was given the Rajiv Gandhi award for Best NRI of the Year at the PEHCHAN-3rd Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Awards 2011.
The Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Awards were instituted in the memory of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the year 2010. To reward the outstanding performers in the industry, PEHCHAN, an NGO nurturing the Girl Child and working towards the education of the Girl Child and marriage of poor girls, had instituted these Awards to keep
alive, the memory of our beloved late Prime Minister, Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji. The 3rd edition of Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Awards 2011 is a tribute to his vision of a strong and self-reliant India.
The elite awards, year after year, would identify and honor professionals who have envisioned and created marvels to create a mark and strives to recognize and encourage outstanding people for their perfection and contribution towards the society and nation which inspires others also to follow suit.

NMC Healthcare joins hands with Emirates NBD Bank
for Diabetes awareness programNMC Healthcare collaborated with Emirates NBD Bank for Diabetes awareness program and conducted a series of campaigns focusing on “Diabetes”, running for over three days at Emirates NBD branches at Al Meydan, Al Barsha & Headquarters.
To start with, Dr. Kandy Koul, General Physician at NMC Specialty Hospital, Dubai, delivered a lecture on diabetes awareness and its management.
NMC Specialty Hospital Dubai also arranged for a free diabetes and hypertension detection camp comprising of Blood Pressure (BP) and Blood Sugar screening tests. This initiative by NMC Healthcare met with an outstanding response with more than 250 Emirates NBD employees being screened during the program.

and Wellbeing NMC Healthcare applauded and recognized for the contribution to raise awareness on healthy living and well-being in partnership with the Skills4life 2012.
NMC Healthcare offered a wide array of free medical awareness program and health screening including oral & dental care, nutrition and basic life support.

Dr. Fatima Bapai, BDS, MDS, Orthodontist at NMC Medical Center, Sharjah presented the Radio Clinic Show on Hum FM 106.2 on 4th August 2012.
During this 1 hour live shows Dr. Fatima addressed the issues pertaining to dental hygiene and orthodontics brace, which refers to the use of wires to align crooked or crowded teeth and to close gaps between teeth.Dr. Fatima advised the listeners that orthodontic treatment can be started as early as 7 to 9 years of age to control and regulate jaw growth.
However orthodontics treatment can also be performed in adults as well. Orthodontics can prevent proclaimed teeth from trauma, prevent bone loss (single tooth cross-bite), prevents sensitivity of teeth and also prevents tempro-madibular joint problems.
She further opined that oral hygiene can be maintained by regular cleaning and brushing of teeth specially after meals and before going to bed to ensure that no food particle in the teeth which may later cause bacterial growth and form cavity.
Dr. Fatima also informed the listeners that the patients needing occlusal alignments / straightening of teeth to improve esthetics of smile as well as oral health may visit the Orthodontist at NMC Medical Center Sharjah.
The show was well received amongst the listeners, wherein listeners called and put-forth their question. Questions were also sent by SMS and online and were answered by Dr. Fatima during the show.
