What a lovely month April was! We kicked off April with a service project. Some members from our club volunteered at Fiesta

Franklin and helped run the whole thing. Fiesta Franklin was a fundraiser auction hosted by the PTA on April 7th, 2012.

This month, our Key Clubbers have been very active in March of Dimes projects. After making cute little donation boxes, we all got together on another day to decorate them! Kudos to those who

were there to help in making and decorating the donation boxes. Don’t they look beautiful?

As a side project, the incoming officers came up with the idea of making t-shirts in order to raise money for the March of Dimes. After

a few weeks of waiting, the shirts have finally arrived! Club members are planning on selling these lovely t-shirts for only $10 for

one, a discounted price of $16 for two. These shirts will be sold during lunch, so don’t miss out! Here’s your chance to make

difference!

Why did you decide to start a Key Club in your school?

I have lots of friends at different schools, and I have known them for a while. We all have the same interests and know each other very well. Though there was one thing I didn’t know

about. Many of them were in key clubs at different schools. Personally at the time I didn’t know what a key club was, I literally thought it had something to do with locksmiths or doors.

However as I found out more about it, it piqued my interest, and it was strange that Benson was one of the few schools in PPS that did not have one, and actually one of my friends, Sarah

Phan, actually spurred the thought to start one at my school. And here we are.

In your first DCM, what’s your first impression? My first DCM was to say quite convivial. Everyone there was very friendly, and not afraid to meet everyone else. Despite not knowing anyone, you don’t get a sense of being forlorn, but more collective with everyone else. I thought everyone there was very nice, and the icebreaker was a nice way to loosen everyone up. It was a superlative experience.

What are you looking forward to this year?

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone that is in different clubs, and hope to make new friends. I will thoroughly, ecstatically, jubilantly, rapturously, and elatedly look forward to

this yea WhatWhat’s y

July 10, 1997 Hobbies: I enjoy photography, church, music including piano and band, reading, watching movies with friends, writing, being with friends and family. Why did you decide to start a Key Club in your school? I wanted to start a Key Club at my school because I have so many ideas and I thought this would be a great way to put them to action. I love making a difference, and this is such a tangible way to do it. In your first DCM, what’s your first impression? Key Clubbers are a crazy group of people... but I can't wait to join you! Key Clubbers are a passionate group of young people wanting to make a difference in the world, and the lives of those around them. I was amazed at how a group of young people are so responsible and incredible. What are you looking forward to this year? I am definitely looking forward to re-chartering Key Club at Parkrose. It's going to be an interesting and very stretching process for me, but I can't wait to see what we can accomplish though this. It's going to be a great year!
