Hello Teachers! As a reading teacher, I find that too many of my students are not able to recognize their sight words automatically. They spend too much time trying to decode sight words which hinders their fluency and comprehension, so I created this to help my struggling readers. You could also use with early readers! This activity combines repeated practice writing the sight words, tracing and reading the sight words embedded in a sentence, and illustrating the sentence to show comprehension of the sentence. Directions: First, students roll a die. Whatever number they land on, they need to write the sight word in the corresponding color. Once students are done rolling & writing, they move onto tracing and reading the simple sentence. Last, students illustrate the sentence to show comprehension of what they read.. My students love this and I hope you find it useful with yours!
