    Terms And Conditions Of Sale

    1. All persons attending the sale under the conduct of the Auctioneers shall be deemed to be on the land and

    premises entirely at their own risk and shall have no claim against the Auctioneers in respect of cancellation/

    postponement of a sale or any loss, accident or injury, however occasioned.

    2. All bids made should be treated as offers made upon these conditions of sale and all persons present are

    admitted to attend a sale on the basis that they have notice of these conditions. All persons intending to bid

    must register at the registration desk before the sale starts.

    Cheques in excess of recognised limits will not be accepted from Buyers unknown to the Auctioneers, unless

    prior arrangements have been made with them, or Bank or other suitable references have been supplied. Non-

    compliance with this condition may delay the release of lots pending the clearance of cheques.

    7. The Auctioneers will at the request of the Buyer store larger items at their premises at the Buyers risk. Items

    can be collected by prior arrangement.

    8. The Auctioneers will execute commission bids, written or telephoned, free of charge. Postal bidders

    should use the form at the back of this catalogue. Commission bids will be executed as cheaply as possible

    having regard to any reserve and other postal bids or bids in the room. The auctioneers shall not, however, be

    responsible for any neglect or default in executing or failing to execute any commission bid.

    9. Subject to condition 12, (a) Lots are sold with all faults and imperfections and neither the Seller nor the

    Auctioneer is responsible for any defects whatsoever; (b) no warranty is given or authorised to be given by theSeller or the Auctioneer with regard to any Lot other than that the Seller had the right to sell it; (c) any express or

    implied conditions or warranties, whether relating to description or quality, are hereby excluded.

    11. The Auctioneers undertake that care has been taken to see that the catalogue descriptions, including

    the catalogue was prepared, but these are necessarily matters of opinion only and shall not be taken to be

    statements of fact.

    12. Notwithstanding Conditions 9, 10 and 11, if the Auctioneers receive notice in writing from the Buyer within

    returned to the Auctioneers at their premises, in the same condition as when bought, then if on considering such

    evidence as the Buyer supplies to prove his assertion, the Auctioneers decide that the Lot is a forgery the sale of

    the Lot will be rescinded and the purchase price repaid to the Buyer.

    13. The Buyer shall not become the owner of any Lot, and the Auctioneers shall have a lien thereon, until the

    Buyer has discharged the purchase price, plus the 10% Buyers Premium charge.

    14. If the Buyer fails to pay for or remove any Lot bought by him or in any other material respect fails to comply

    with these Conditions, the Auctioneers shall have the right (a) to resell the Lot by public auction or otherwise

    expenses of the Auctioneers, the Buyer shall be responsible to the Seller and Auctioneers (but any surplus to be

    the Sellers) or alternatively, (b) to store the Lot at the premises of the Auctioneers or elsewhere and to release

    the Lot to the Buyer only after payment in full of all reasonable storage and removal expenses incurred (inaddition to the purchase price).

    15. Persons handling Lots do so at their own risk and shall make good all loss or damage however sustained,

    MAIN AUCTIONThe main Auction will be in the Exhibition Hall and viewing will be from 7.30 a.m. The sale

    will start at 10.30 a.m. There will be a lunch break at Lot 300 for 30 minutes. Car parking

    on the site is restricted but there are a number of car parks within a short walking distance

    of the Centre.

    ALPHA LOTS

    There will be a large Alpha lot section on the day. This will be held in the Viewing Room

    at the Crewe North Signal Box. Viewing for this sale will be from 8.00 a.m. till 11.00 a.m.

    Bids to be in by 11.00 a.m.

    Lots will be sold to the highest bidder as determined by the Auctioneers on receipt of the

    special Alpha Lot Bidding Slips handed in by 11.00 a.m. on the day. The results of this

    Auction will be available at 2.00 p.m. and an announcement will be made in the Main Hall.

    All lots must be removed by 3.30 p.m. unless prior arrangements are made. We regret that

    Alpha lots are not available to poster bidders.

    BUYERS PREMIUM

    Please note there is a 10% Buyers Premium to be added to the Hammer Price in the main

    auction and the highest bid price in the Alpha Lot Auction.

    FREE BUS

    There will be a Free Vintage Routemaster Bus running to and from Crewe Railway Station

    and the Heritage Centre starting from 7.40am approx every 20 minutes for the duration of

    the day. The bus will break for lunch approx 40 mins at 12.40 to 1.10.

    REFRESHMENTS

    There will be Homemade refreshments available all day in the North Signal Box.

    CAR PARKING

    The parking at the Heritage Centre will be for Staff and trade stands only on the day. There

    is parking within 5 minutes walk ofthe event at:

    Christ Church East and West Pay & Display and Oak Street Pay and Display.

    Fees: 24 hours 2.10. 410 hours 2.90

    All Day Undercover Car Park Civic Centre between Christ Church Car Parks and

    the Police Station. Fee: All Day 2.90

    Enclosed is a Heritage Leaflet with a detailed map on the back including all Car Parks.

    Please note: Tesco, Dunelm/MFI allow 3 hours parking for Customers only and are

    checked regularly, so parking here is at your own risk.

    the face and minor edge chipping otherwise good deep colour & shine. Size 18 x 12.

    2 A pictorial enamel Advertising sign SPRATTS showing Dog, Cat, Bird, & Fish in skeleton shapes,

    black on cream with only minor face chips. Dated 3/45, size 24 x 5. A Rare Sign in very good

    condition.

    3 A cast iron Shedplate 70A Nine Elms 1950 to July 1967. The plate is in restored condition and has a

    clear BR(S) Triangle to the rear.

    4 A cast iron Great Western Railway Locomotive Cab Notice CAUTION DO NOT LOOK OVER OR

    PASS ALONG THE SIDE OF THIS CAB WHEN NEAR BRIDGES, TUNNELS, LOAD GAUGES OR

    COAL STAGES AND DATED January 1909. In unrestored condition.

    5 An LMS enamel Station Lamp Tablet CLOUGH FOLD. A former LYR station on the line betweenBacup & Rawtenstall. Black on yellow with some edge rusting and slight mottling. Size 16 x 4

    6 A brass Diesel Locomotive Worksplate The Drewry Car Co. Ltd City Wall House London EC2

    1955 204 H.P. Loco No.2543/D269 Constructed By The Vulcan Foundry Ltd Newton-Le-Willows

    Lancs. Ex BR D2220 original number 11126 built by Drewry Car Vulcan Foundry as 543/D269 in

    September 1955, first depot 32A Norwich, withdrawn February 1968 from 2F Bescot. Scrapped at

    Cohens, Kettering in May 1968. The plate is in very good unrestored, ex loco condition. NOTE: We

    sold the other side of this plate in our April 2013 Auction!

    7 A GWR official Jigsaw Speed depicting Castle Class Loco 4073 at speed. In good condition,

    complete with box and made up on a board to view.

    8 A framed & glazed Carriage Print Rufford Abbey, Nottinghamshire by Kenneth Steel. In original

    type frame in very good condition.

    9 A Cheshire Lines Committee cast iron Signal Finial in very good restored condition.

    10 A BR alloy Lion & Wheel Emblem as fitted to W.C.M.L. Class 81 to 86 Electric Locomotives. This is

    attached to a polished wooden presentation board with brass plate Presented By R.M. And E.E.

    Maintenance ex Crewe Works. In very good condition.

    11 A South Eastern & Chatham Railway wooden glass fronted Station Display Case with SE&CR

    enamel Heading to the top and displaying eight SECR Handbills. The back is marked SR Halling.

    Oak case size 33 x 28.

    12 A cast iron Locomotive Tenderplate LMS No.9520 1936. The plate is in face restored condition,

    the back marked Ex 45284 an LMS Stanier Black 5 it spent its BR days at Newton Heath & Edge

    Hill. It was withdrawn in May 1968 and cut up in August 1968 at Wards of Killamarsh. The plate is in

    restored condition.

    13 A cast iron Shedplate 3A Bescot 1948 to June 1960. The plate is in ex loco condition.

    14 A Midland Railway, all copper with cast iron finial, Station Gas Lamp Post Top, clearly stamped

    MR Co.. This needs re-glazing to make a fine example. Width 17 and stands 39 tall. In

    unrestored condition.

    15 A BR(S) Totem SALISBURY h/f. A couple of chips between the I and the S and some minor face

    & edge rusting otherwise good deep colour & shine.

    15A An LMS brass Tender Plate WATER CAPACITY 4000 GALLONS in very good face restored onlycondition.

    16 A Great Western Railway 1947 pattern Block Instrument complete with its R.E.Thompson makers

    plate. This Instrument is in lovely ex box condition.

    17 A Great Western Railway Steel Key Token with engraved brass plate LLANIDLOES MOAT LANE

    EAST the junction for the Mid Wales line. In very good unrestored condition.

    18 A BR (M) enamel Station sign TO THE TRAINS with left facing Arrow. One tiny face chip otherwise

    in superb condition with good deep colour & shine. Size 18 x 12.

    19 A cast iron sign L.&N.W. AND L.&Y. RAILWAYS ANY PERSON FOUND TAMPERING WITH THESE

    BELLS WILL BE PROSECUTED BY ORDER. In face restored condition.

    20 An original Painting by Vic Welch depicting 92220 Evening Star On Shed. Framed & glazed in very

    good condition. Size 27 x 20 .

    20A A small wooden Signal Arm with cast iron Spectacle plate, believed to be Liverpool Overhead

    Railway. In unrestored condition.

    21 An early enamel sign TELEGRAPH OFFICE WITH Pointing Hand. White on black with minor edge

    chipping, otherwise good deep colour & shine. Size 31 x 6.

    22 A pair of BR (E) Locomotive Head Lamps complete and in restored condition.

    23 A Locomotive Smokebox Plate 43143 ex (LMS) design Ivatt Mogul 2-6-0 4MT new Doncaster

    works (No.2088) August 1951 to South Lynn, other allocations were Boston. Withdrawn at Barrow

    Hill in June 1965 and cut up at Wards, Killamarsh in October 1965. The plate is in face restored

    some time ago condition, the back is in ex loco condition.

    24 A London Brighton & South Coast Railway cast iron Bridge Owners Plate embossed LB&SCR. In

    unrestored condition.

    25 A BR (Sc) enamel Station Direction sign BRITISH RAILWAYS (in Totem) STATION with left facing

    arrow. There is a repaired face chip on the point on the arrow and some edge rusting etc. Size 21

    x 10.

    25A A North Staffordshire Railway Face Piece Horse Brass with NSR to the centre on its original

    leather backing. In very good condition. A Scarce Brass!

    26 A brass Locomotive Worksplate The Hunslet Engine Co. Ltd Leeds 18 x 26 No.3822 1954 ex

    0-6-0 S.T. new to Aberpergwm Colliery at Glyn Neath and scrapped by Adams in January 1964.

    Size 10 x 8. Face restored only.

    27 A brass Radiator Plate HUNSLET from a Diesel Shunter, the back marked No.6289. In very good

    ex loco condition. Size 30 x 6 .

    28 A GWR pattern alloy Key Token Holder and Hoop in good ex box condition.

    29 A cast iron Bridgeplate London & North Western And Great Western Railway joint, lettered L&NW &

    GW JOINT LINES 76A. In very good face restored only condition.

    30 A small, wooden, double sided Carriage Board BRISTOL on one side and on the reverse

    LEICESTER in Maroon & straw in good ex service condition.

    31 A Pictorial enamel Advertising sign SPRATTS CANARY MIXTURE AND BUDGERIGAR MIXTURE

    THE CLEAN SAFE, SOUND BIRD SEEDS THAT ARE ONLY SOLD IN PACKETS with Spratts in Birdmotif. Several face chips otherwise good deep colour & shine. Size 24 x12.

    32 An LNER (GNR Pattern) Guards Hand Lamp, brass plated London & North Eastern Railway Rye

    House cracked front glass otherwise in good unrestored condition.

    33 A cast iron Shedplate 86K Abergavenny 1950 to Nov 1954. The plate is in restored condition. A

    Scarce Code!

    34 A London & North Eastern Railway Double Royal Poster, London Architecture, Tudors etc by Fred

    Taylor showing Henry V111 and Hampton Court Palace. In good condition with some folds.

    35 A BR (W) Totem CORWEN f/f. a couple of small face chips and some minor mottling, otherwise in

    good ex station condition. A Station on the Ruabon to Barmouth Line.

    36 A GNR/LNER wooden cased Level Crossing Indicator Instrument in very good ex box condition.

    37 A GWR cast iron sign SPEED NOT TO EXCEED 15 MILES PER HOUR from a single line token

    pick up/set down apparatus. A Scarce Sign!

    38 An LMS Fowler pattern brass Locomotive Whistle as fitted to 0-6-0 Jinty Tanks. In good, lightly

    polished condition.

    39 A Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway pattern cast iron Signal Finial in good unrestored condition.

    40 A Locomotive Smokebox Plate 48148 ex LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 built at Crewe July 1942 as 8148

    and allocated to Heaton Mersey, Newton Heath and Patricroft. It was renumbered 48148 in March

    1949 and was withdrawn in June 1965 and cut up in November 1965. The plate is in face restored

    only condition but does have a BR weld repair. SEE LOT 440.

    41 A BR (M) enamel Poster Board Heading BRITISH RAILWAYS with minor edge rusting and a couple

    of minor face chips otherwise in very good condition. Size 25 x 5 .

    42 A London & North Western Railway small Inspectors Hand Lamp clearly stamped LANCASTER

    CHG and A32369, the top is also marked LNWR CARR DEPT WOLVERTON. In good restored

    condition.

    43 A cast iron Shedplate 5A Crewe North 1948 to May 1965. The plate is in face restored only

    condition, the back is in ex loco condition.

    44 A (London & North Western Railway) cast iron Signalbox Backboard plate TO STAMFORD. In

    good ex box condition.

    45 A BR (M) enamel Doorplate STATION MASTER f/f with a couple of minor edge chips, otherwise in

    excellent condition with good deep colour & shine. Size 18 x 6.

    46 An alloy Diesel Worksplate British Railways Crewe Built 1966 Power Equipment By British Electrical

    Engineering Company Ltd And Sulzer, as fitted to a Brush Class 47 Locomotive. In very good ex

    loco Rail Blue condition.

    47 A Webb & Thompson large Electric Train Staff GWINEAR ROAD WEST NANCEGOLLAN

    CROSSING PLACE a former GWR section. In good ex box condition.

    48 A Great Northern Railway brass Station Hand Bell. The side engraved G.N.R.. In very good ex

    service condition.

    49 An early cast iron Roadside Finger Post Top RINGWOOD HAMPSHIRE. In very good restored

    condition.

    50 A Great Western Railway cast iron Cabside 2224 ex Collett 0-6-0 Tender Locomotive, new

    Swindon September 1937 to Tyesley shed it then spent many years at Stourbridge Junction until

    sent to Neath in My 1962 to be withdrawn and stored until cut up at Cashmores Newport October

    1962. The plate is in face restored condition, the back is unrestored and marked Works Manager

    Swindon.

    50A A BR (NE) Lion Over Wheel Cap Badge STATION MASTER in very good condition.

    51 A BR (E) Station sign TELEGRAMS f/f with minor edge chipping otherwise in very good condition

    with good deep colour & shine. Size 36 x 12.

    52 A Great Western Railway brass collared 3 Aspect Guards Lamp in very good condition.

    53 A cast iron Shedplate 72C Yeovil Town 1950 to Sept 1963. The plate has a clear BR(S) Triangle tothe rear and marked ex 31 798. A Maunsell U Class 2-6-0 withdrawn at Yeovil in September 1964

    and cut up in December 1964. The plate is in face restored only condition.

    54 A London & North Western Railway framed & glazed Advertising Board L&NWR Places Of Interest

    showing four Edwardian scenes: Marine Drive Colwyn Bay, Colwyn Bay from the Station, Ferry Nab

    Windermere and Rydal Water. Signed Frank Ree, General Manager Euston Station. Some minor

    marking & staining otherwise in very good condition. Size 33 x 25.

    55 A cast iron Hull & Barnsley Railway Signal Gantry plate H&BR SAXBY & FARMER LD RAILWAYSIGNAL ENGINEERS LONDON AND CHIPPENHAM with embossed picture of a Train on a Bridge

    with Signal Gantry in the foreground. The plate is in face restored only condition. A Scarce Plate!

    56 A Great Western Railway brass cased Tyers shelf mounted lower quadrant semaphore distant signal

    repeater. The inside retains its Tyer & co. test label dated 14/6/39. In good ex box condition.

    57 A wooden cased Signalbox Telephone bearing two brass plates on the front TO T.M. WEST and

    CABIN UP AT STARTING SIGNALS ex Bristol Temple Meads. In very good condition.

    58 An LNER cast iron Doorplate TELEPHONE in unrestored ex Station condition.

    59 A Great Western Railway (WB&S Co.) Dunces Hat Signal Finial. In unrestored condition. A Scarce

    Finial!

    60 A Locomotive Smokebox plate 67601 ex LNER Gresley V1 Class 2-6-2- Tank, new DoncasterWorks October 1930 as LNER 7601. This locomotive spent most of its BR days working the Balloch

    Balloch Pier Branch, it was withdrawn in January 1962 and cut up in September 1962. The plate is

    in face restored some time ago condition on the front with the back in ex loco condition.

    61 A pictorial enamel Advertising sign JOHN BULL THE LONG SERVICE TYRE with picture of John

    Bull in the bottom left hand corner. This is black/white on orange with some edge chipping/rusting

    otherwise good deep colour & shine. Size 47 x 15 .

    62 A Great Western Railway pre-grouping copper top Hand Lamp with GWR copper top, reservoir,GWR etched front glass and brass oval number plate 11587. The Lamp is in good unrestored

    condition.

    63 A cast iron Shedplate 81E Didcot 1950 to April 1965. The plate is in ex loco condition, the back is

    marked ex 5744.

    64 An LMS 10 Dial Fusee Drop Case Wall Clock, the face marked BR (E) John Walker 1 South Molton

    St. London No.13913 and also brass plated LMS 13913. The Clock is believed to be from the

    Peterborough area and would have been used at a former LMS Station, transferred to the Easternregion. Complete with pendulum & Key this clock appears to be in good working order, just needs a

    little TLC!

    65 An enamel Station sign MIDLAND RAILWAY THESE BUCKETS MUST BE KEPT FULL OF CLEAN

    WATER AND USED ONLY IN CASE OF A FIRE etc, dated Jan 1909. In a wooden frame, a nice

    example of one of these signs. Size 12 x 7.

    65A An Edmondson Station Ticket Dater with box of Type. In good condition.

    66 A brass Locomotive 9 x 5 Worksplate London & North Eastern Railway LNER 3965 DONCASTER

    WORKS 1942 ex Class 02 2-8-0 New Doncaster June 1942 as 3965 renumbered to 63965 in

    November 1949. A Langwith Junction & Retford engine it was withdrawn in October 1962 and cut

    up in November 1962. The plate is in face restored only condition.

    67 A BR (M) wooden Station Finger Board lettered LEICESTER, BEDFORD AND LONDON with

    feathered Arrow, double sided in maroon & straw. In good ex station condition.

    68 A Southern Railway enamel Poster Board Heading SR SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS white on

    blue with some minor edge & face chipping, otherwise good deep colour & shine. Size 27 x 5 .

    69 A cast iron sign NORTH EATERN RAILWAY THIS LEVEL CROSSING IS PRIVATE etc, signed C.N.

    Wilkinson Secretary. The sign is in restored condition. A Scarce Sign!

    70 A Southern Railway Station Target sign WIMBLEDON PARK. This has some minor edge and

    screw hole chips otherwise good deep colour & shine.

    70A A cast iron plate G.W.R. ENGINE OIL as found in Locomotive Engine Sheds. In good face restored

    only condition.

    71 A BR (M) enamel Station sign WAY OUT AND SUBWAY TO OTHER PLATFORMS double sided

    with hanging hooks with several face chips on both sides, otherwise good deep colour & shine. Size

    60 x 12.

    72 A BR (Sc) Poster Board Heading BRITISH RAILWAYS in excellent condition. Size 26 x 5

    73 A cast iron Shedplate 87F Lllanelly 1950 To October 1965. The plate is in face restored only

    condition, the ex loco back is marked ex 73023.

    74 An ornate cast iron Wagonplate CLAYTONS WAGONS LTD 1927 ABBEY WORKS LINCOLN

    ENGLAND with embossed Lion to the centre. An attractive plate in face restored only condition.

    75 A brass Locomotive Worksplate R&W Hawthorn Leslie & Co. Ltd Engineers Newcastle On Tyne

    England No.2789 1912, ex 0-4-0 ST locomotive No.12 at Lambton, Hetton and Joicay Colliery in

    County Durham. In very good ex loco condition.

    75A A Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway brass Cap Badge LYR PORTER in very good condition.

    76 An LMS Tyers Scottish pattern Block Instrument with makers plate Tyer & Co. London in verygood ex box condition. A Nice Example Of One Of These!

    77 An LNER enamel Station Lamp Tablet MONKSEATON rectangular, brown on cream, f/f. A couple

    of face chips & some edge rusting otherwise in good condition. Size 16 x 5.

    78 A Great Western Railway brass Pressure Gauge with silvered face, engraved GWR. The brass

    case is also stamped GWR. In good ex loco condition.

    79 A North Eastern Railway, Ball type cast iron Boundry Post with NER embossed on the Ball. In

    restored condition

    80 A framed & glazed Signalbox Diagram GER Felixstowe Beach Diagram Of Signals dated May 4th

    1910, in original frame. There is a damp stain to the bottom left hand end and some slight edge

    staining otherwise in very good condition for its age. Size 42 x 19 . A Rare Survivor!

    81 An enamel Advertising sign WAKEFIELD CASTROL MOTOR OIL in black, white & green with

    some minor face chipping and some edge rusting otherwise in good condition. Size 30 x 20.

    82 An SNCF large Steam locomotive Headlamp clearly stamped No.20970. In restored condition with

    large copper top.

    83 A cast iron Shedplate 9D Buxton 1948 to September 1963, then Newton Heath September 1963 to

    renumbered 45309 in October 1948, always a Scottish locomotive. Allocations include Polmadie,

    Perth, Motherwell & Carstairs,it was withdrawn in September 1966 and cut up at Cambells of Airdre

    in February 1967. The plate is in good unrestored condition with slight loss to the top right hand bolthole.

    117 A Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway brass Locomotive Whistle. The Whistle is from 50455, the last

    L&YR 4-6-0 in traffic. This comes with a BR Handbill for Sunday 1st July 1951 when this locomotive

    worked a special train from Blackpool Central to York for the Stephenson Locomotive Society, there

    is also a letter with reference to how the Whistle was obtained by the owner and also a piece of coal

    from the Tender. The Whistle is being sold to raise funds for the LNWR George The Fifth Society

    who are aiming to build one of these magnificent engines. In very good condition.

    118 A Great Western Railway, lockable Pay Check Tin Slotted Rack with 27 un-issued BR(W) Pay

    Checks all from Shrewsbury. In good ex service condition.

    PASSENGER. In good, working, condition.

    199 A Great Northern Railway Platform Seat. The two cast iron seat ends clearly embossed GNR-S. In

    very good, restored, condition. Size 65 long, 15 depth, 31 height.

    200 A Locomotive Smokebox Plate 92100 ex BR 2-10-0 9F Class Locomotive. New to Crewe Works

    July 1956 to Toton, other allocations were Leicester (MR), Westhouses, Wellingborough and

    finally Birkenhead in April 1965. It was condemned at Birkenhead in May 1967 and stored here

    until September 1967 then to Crewe South until November 1967. Finally, it was towed to Cohens

    in Kettering and stored here until it was cut up in January 1968. The plate is in superb ex loco

    condition.

    200A A London & North Western Railway brass Pay Check CREWE STATION 17 L&NWR on one side

    and PASS CHECK OSS on the reverse. A Scarce Pay Check Not Seen Before!

    201 An enamel Station sign Public Telephone Call Box Under L.N.W.R Control. This blue on white,

    some face chip repairs otherwise good deep colour & shine. A scarce sign!

    202 A large copper signal lamp from the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, Riverside Station, Liverpool.

    This was located on the Home Signal for Riverside Station the Ocean Liner Terminus alongside

    the landing stage on the River Mersey in Liverpool. This stands 24 high, diameter 12.5, this

    is most likely a product of the Railway Signal Company Works at nearby Fazakerley. In original

    condition as an electric lamp, it hosts two brass plates MERSEY DOCKS & HARBOUR BOARD.

    RIVERSIDE STATION & MDE. The front bulls eye is cracked, but this does not detract from what

    is a Super Lamp! A photograph accompanies this showing the signal in its original location.

    203 A cast iron Shedplate 5E Alsager 1948 to June 1962, then Nuneaton September 1963 to June 1966.

    The plate is in restored some time ago condition.

    204 A pair of (Midland Railway) brass engraved Signal Box Shelf Plates Upline Masboro Station North

    the back is marked ex 43826.

    214 A Great Western Railway cast iron Station Gas Lamp Post complete with Rochester type Top,

    the post marked with makers name S. Griffith, Reading The post is approx 8ft tall with GWR

    embossed at the base. In good unrestored condition, as removed from Aberdare (High Level)

    220 A Locomotive Smokebox plate 6717 ex GWR Collett 0-6-0 Pannier Tank, new W.G Bagnall,

    Stafford July 1930 to Duffryn Yard, other allocations were Upperbank and Swansea Victoria. It was

    withdrawn in February 1959 and cut up at Swindon Works. The plate is in ex loco condition with the

    back clearly marked Barry.

    221 A BR(M) enamel Station sign British Railways Subway For Pedestrians Only, It Is An Offence Under

    The Bye-Laws Relating To The Railways Of The British Transport Commission To Ride A Bicycle,

    Tricycle, Motorcycle Or Similar Machine Or To Bring Any Handcart, Barrow Or Similar Conveyance

    In This Subway Maximum Penalty 5. Fully flanged with only one small chip to the word Offence,

    otherwise has excellent deep colour & shine. Size 24 x 18. A Scarce Sign!

    Crewe Works September 1927 as LMS 13084 to Crewe South. It was renumbered to LMS 2784 in

    & Saltley. It was withdrawn from Saltley in December 1962 and was cut up at Derby works in March

    1963. The plate is in face restored only condition.

    was built by EE Vulcan Foundry, as D6799 Lot No. 3228/D753 in December 1962. Initially allocated

    to Sheffield Darnall and withdrawn in June 1997. Currently owned by the Growler Group at the

    Gloucester-Warwickshire Railway.

    260 An alloy Nameplate REDHILL 1844-1944 as carried by 73107. Named in April 1994 to mark

    150 years of railways running to Redhill, removed in August 2004, 73107 was built as E6013 by

    EE Vulcan Foundry Lot No. 3575/E345 in November 1965. Initially allocated to Horsham it was

    withdrawn from in December 2006. Stored and then sold it is now with RT Rail as a hire vehicle re-

    liveried and renamed.

    261 An alloy Nameplate THE INSTITUTE OF LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT as carried by 92031.

    Named in June 2001 removed when re-liveried, 92031, was built by Brush Loughborough in April

    1995 as works No. 1090 initially allocated to Crewe Electric. Still in Service.

    Withdrawn in February 1999 from Bescot and cut up in March 2004 by C F Booth Rotherham.

    264 A brass Nameplate CAERPHILLY CASTLE as carried by 37411. Named in May 2005 to mark the

    final two weeks of Class 37 operation on Arriva Trains Cardiff Valley Services. Cast in GWR style the

    plate was removed in November 2010, 37411, was built by EE Vulcan Foundry, as D6990 Lot No.

    3550/D979 in June 1965. Initially allocated to Cardiff Canton withdrawn from Toton in October 2010

    and is now owned by DRS.

    265 An alloy Nameplate PRIDE OF THE VALLEYS as carried by 37425. Named in May 2005 to mark

    the final two weeks of Class 37 operation on Arriva Trains Cardiff Valley Services. The plate was

    removed in November 2010, 37425 was built by EE Vulcan Foundry, as D6992 Lot No 3552/D981

    in June 1965. Initially allocated to Cardiff Canton withdrawn from Toton in October 2010 and is now

    owned by DRS.

    266 An alloy Nameplate SEVERN as carried by 47513. Named in March 1979 removed in August

    1998, 47513, was built by Brush Traction as D1959 Works No. 621 in February 1967. Initially

    allocated to London Midlands Western lines it was withdrawn in March 1997 from Crewe Diesel

    Depot and cut up by C F Booth Rotherham in April 2004.

    267 An alloy Nameplate XANCIDAE as carried by 47054. Named in June 1991 as one of Fleet

    dedicated to Shell, previously carried by 47010, removed in July 1992. Unique as only plate to

    begin with letter X, 47054 was built by BR Crewe in December 1964. Initially allocated to Cardiff

    Canton it was withdrawn in July 1992 from Immingham and cut up by Booth-Roe Metals Rotherham

    in November 1993.

    268 An alloy Nameplate JOHN LOGIE BAIRD as carried by 60066 Named in June 1991. Named after

    the Television Pioneer the plate was removed when the 60066 was stored at Toton in January 2009.

    Built by Brush Loughborough as works No. 968 in July 1991. Stored at Toton in June 2009.

    Currently allocated to DBS France.

    270 An alloy Nameplate THE SAPPER and its badge as carried by 47306. Named in April 1994 to

    commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Royal Engineers being given the Freedom of entry into

    Stratford on Avon. 47306 was built as D1787 by Brush Traction as works No 549 in November 1964

    and initially allocated to London Midland Nottingham Division. Withdrawn from Crewe Diesel in

    March 2000 and now preserved by the Bodmin & Wenford Diesel Group at Bodmin.

    271 An alloy Nameplate MARCHWOOD MILITARY PORT as carried by 47213. Named in June 1993

    to mark the 50th anniversary of operating the Port Railway, removed in March 1999. 47213 was

    built by Brush Traction as works No. 625 in May 1965 and initially allocated to Sheffield Darnall.

    Withdrawn in February 1999 from Bescot and cut up by HNRC at Crewe Diesel Depot in May 2005.

    ex loco condition.
