GeneralMethod:Thecomponentsofthephenolicsystemshouldbegluedbeforetheconduitisplacedonthewallsupports.Thismethodbelowwilldescribetheproperpracticetousetheepoxyadhesive:

• Thetwocomponentadhesivesystemwillbegintocurein3-7minutes,andrequiresapproximately30minutesofsettimebeforehandlingorpullingcables.Thetwocomponentsystemwillbesuppliedinadhesivetubeswithanaccompanyingmixertipthatwillmixthetwocomponentstogether.Theadhesivetubeshouldbeinsertedintotheapplicatordispenser(mustbepurchasedseparately).Themixertipshouldthenbeattachedtotheadhesivetubeanthentheadhesiveisreadytobeapplied.

• Theendsurfaceoftheconduit(approx.9”)shouldbelightlysandedtoremovethesheenfromthesurfacepriortoapplicationoftheadhesive(seeillustrationbelow).

• Whentheadhesiveapplicatortriggerisdepressed,theadhesivewillself-mixinthemixertip.Afewsquirtsofadhesiveshouldbeclearedfromthetubetogetthepropercomponentmixratio.Theadhesiveshouldbeliberallyspreadwithasteelspatulaleavinganapprox.10-15milthicknessoverthesandedsurfaceofconduitend.Theconduitendcanthenbeinsertedintothecorrespondingcoupling,orboxfitting,whileusingaslighttwistingmotion.Anyexcessadhesivecanbescrapedoffwiththesteelspatulaorwipedoffwitharag.Glovesandsafetyglassesarerecommendedwhenusingtheadhesive.
