multidisciplinary solution allows manufacturers to maximize strength, durability, noise and vibration performance, crashworthiness, safety, and manufacturability of structural designs—including advanced materials such as laminated composites and engineered plastics—in order to bring innovative products to market faster.

Automotive and aerospace companies value the contribution RADIOSS makes in understanding and predicting design behavior in complex environments such as bird impacts on aircraft, aircraft ditching, automotive crashes, automotive full-vehicle tests, and powertrain noise and vibration simulations.

Top Benefits (for more details, go to www.altair.com/intel/radioss)

• Scalability, quality, repeatability, and robustness • Fast computation speed for large models• Accurate results• Ready for optimization• NASTRAN environment-compatible• Easy-to-read output file• Workload management interface• Automated robustness studies and design optimization• Comprehensive material library

RADIOSS typically runs in a cluster environment where a high degree of efficiency is necessary, so end users can focus on their core competencies without worrying about managing the cluster. Because of the RADIOSS workload management interface to PBS Professional® (Altair’s industry-leading workload manager), RADIOSS cluster users can take advantage of the Intel® Cluster Ready (ICR) program to improve the ease of use and manageability of clusters.

PBS Professional is responsible for scheduling, executing, and tracking the RADIOSS user’s jobs on the cluster. Being aware of changes in the environment, which will negatively impact the user’s job, is very important. On clusters that are Intel Cluster Ready-certified, PBS Professional can utilize Intel® Cluster Checker for gathering real-time information about the cluster at the very moment a RADIOSS job has been scheduled. Using this immediate feedback, PBS Professional can ensure that a RADIOSS job is being executed only on a cluster that has passed a check by Intel Cluster Checker, for improved reliability and performance.

What is Intel Cluster Ready?Developed with the help of hardware and software vendors, Intel Cluster Ready systems and applications use the Intel Cluster Ready specification that defines a common basis for building clusters and registering HPC applications. The specification includes requirements for hardware, software, manageability, and functionality to help make sure that each cluster component conforms to industry standards or, if no standard exists, best-of-class practices. The result is to provide you with Intel Cluster Ready solutions that are easier to choose, deploy, and maintain—and arrive at your doorstep ready to run.

“We are in the position to predict crash results via simulation much better than in the past. Building on this approach will lead to sustainable time savings and better products for our customers.”

— Fabien Breda, Senior Engineer Crash & Fluid Simulations, PSA Peugeot Citroën

Scale-out Your ProductivityClusters help offload work from your workstation by harnessing the parallel processing power of many connected servers. Clusters help increase throughput and computing capacity to solve bigger, more complex problems and solve smaller problems faster. Intel Cluster Ready systems and applications are developed to integrate tightly as a complete solution—no matter which systems or application combination you choose.

Manage and Maintain Clusters More Easily with Intel Cluster CheckerIntel Cluster Checker is an essential software diagnostics tool that helps make sure system components continue to work together over the cluster’s lifetime. It analyzes the cluster’s configuration to be certain it remains compliant with the architecture specification. If there is a problem, Intel Cluster Checker identifies it quickly and provides detailed diagnostic information.

Focus on Buying the Right Cluster We take the complexity out of purchasing an HPC cluster because certified Intel Cluster Ready systems have been thoroughly tested to ensure component interoperability. Configuring a cluster can be a difficult process of choosing components and applications and trying to figure out which pieces work together.

Buying a certified Intel Cluster Ready system means this effort is already done and the solution is verified to provide the architecture needed for the application to execute. Buying a certified Intel Cluster Ready system helps you focus on getting the right solution based on the type and size of problem you need to solve with the application.
