In common language, we

say that Communication asthe process or act ofsharing anything. Basically

we have two types ofcommunications; Wired &

Wireless.

Radio is an electronic devicethat enables us to hear to

telecasted programs from miles

and miles away.

The Transmitting Earth station is the

initial assembly where all the

transmission starts from. It includes

various sections like Studio and

Transmitter.

The set of processes that occur in this stage is as follows:-

1. Announcer/R.J. gives voice input through Microphone.

2. Microphone passes it on to the Pre-amplifier.

3. From Pre-amplifier, it is passed on to the Drier-amplifier.

4. Drier-amplifier forwards it to the Power-amplifier.5. Then it goes to the Switching Console.

6. Various other equipments give input to the Switching Console like

Turntable, Tape-deck, Computers, Link-swap, etc.

7. From Switching Console, it is sent to the Refraining board, that

consists of Mixer, Oscillator, etc.8. Finally it is sent to the Studio Radar hoisted at a Radio Tower and

then aired to the satellite.

Basically there are many sections of astudio. But some of the most widely usedare:Talk rooms, music room, announcerbooth, etc. All these give their respectiveoutput, and the outputs are collected in a

device at the control room called as theConsole.

It is a 20 KHz Medium Wave Transmitter. It

is the transmitter that is now a days used

the most. Before the introduction of

HARRIS 20-MWT, NIPPON ELECTRIC waswidely in use. It was a 10 KHz transmitter.

1. LOW FREQUENCY AMPLIFIER:- It catches the signals

of the uplinked frequency and terminates the remaining.

2. MIXER:- With the help of an OSCILLATOR, another

new frequency is defined, which on which the signals

are again re-imposed by the Mixer.

3. POWER AMPLIFIER:- It makes the new wave thoroughand uniform, and throws the signal towards the

Receiving Earth Station with a frequency called as

Downlink Frequency.

The set of steps in this process are as follows:-1. The Antenna catches the signals and forwards it to

the Fx-1632 Selector.2. The Fx-1632 Selector passes the signals equivalent

to the downlink frequency, and eliminates theremaining.

3. Then the signal is passed on to the Decoder, whichseparates out the main wave from the carrier wave.

It is also referred as Demodulation.4. Then, it is again passed on to the Switching

Console, through the Mikoshta Converter, fromwhere either it can be played there itself, or evenbroadcasted on air using the pre-describedprocess.
