“The District shall create an environment that understands providing additional and differentiated resources to support the success of all students shall be fundamentally necessary to achieve racial and educational equity.
The District acknowledges the history of institutional racism that systematically and systemically prohibited the educational and societal advancement of students. The District recognizes its history in participating in societal ills that have perpetuated racial inequity and discrimination. The District is committed to creating an environment where all student experiences are heard.
The District shall establish the Racial Equity Office (REO), which shall be responsible for the management, execution, and facilitation of the Racial, Socio-Economic, and Educational Equity resolution.”
Outcome Goals
• African American students’ reading and math performance on Grades 3–8 STAAR
• African American and English Language Learner performance on End of Course (EOC) STAAR
• Graduation rates for African American and ELL students
About Racial Equity OfficeHow we do our work
The purpose of the Racial Equity Office is to inject equity-driven design into all aspects of the student experience by transforming policy, process & practice in classrooms, schools and district leadership.
The Racial Equity Office, in collaboration with Dallas ISD Department Teams, structures its work through cycles of continuous improvement across all seven pillars to improve the outcomes for African-American and English Language Learner Students.
