PM68 fit PM Tuning Stainless Steel Race Use Exhaust System 4 Stroke GTS/GTV250/300ie. New Generation Liquid Cooled Piaggio / Gilera Quasar Type Engine. Application: Piaggio Quasar Motor 250 GTS 250/300ie. Thank you for purchasing a hand crafted PM68 X-Tech / PM80 Scomadi Replica performance race pipe the end product of PM Tuning's technical know-how and dyno research and development. This pipe has been designed to operate at its best with stock variator rollers and belt in good condition. If your machine has covered more than 2000 town miles it may be necessary to inspect the rollers for any signs of flat spots and replace if worn the belt should also be checked to a service limit of minus 1.mm in width when comparing to a new belt. Please follow these instructions carefully before fitting… 1. Remove old exhaust as required and clean around exhaust port and mounting area. Disconnect lambda connection (fig 1.) And remove lambda sensor from original down pipe. Fit lambda sensor probe into new down pipe. (fig 2.) 2. Fit CNC hanging bracket on to chamber mounting bolt with m8 flat washer and lock nut provided, make sure the chrome spacer is located correctly on the rubber void bush facing outwards between the CNC bracket and chamber bracket, at this stage the nut and bolt should be temporarily just tight enough to allow for slide adjustment. (fig 3.) 3. Fit connector pipe to exhaust port, again semi tight at this stage so just enough to allow for adjustment on completion. (Use high temp silicone instant gasket sealer on exhaust port and main slip joint). Re-connect the lambda connection (fig 1.) 4. Locate main system onto connector pipe end joint use and the x2 expansion springs on the exhaust eyelets to locate the slip joint into place. (Use high temp silicone instant gasket sealer on slip joint) 5. Adjust system into position making sure that both holes on the CNC bracket come into perfect alignment with threaded holes on the corresponding mounting arm, at this point the CNC mounting plate should sit parallel against main mounting arm without causing the CNC bracket to be forced or twisted in any way. Failure to observe this condition will lead to the exhaust being stressed and lead to pipe fractures. Use the original bolts, washers to secure. 6. Starting from the back proceed in working forward securing fasteners in the following order: A. Hanging bracket bolts x2. B. Chamber bracket to CNC hanging bracket m8 lock nut and bolt x1. C. Finally exhaust manifold to exhaust port m7 nuts x2 avoid bending exhaust port flange by over tightening. D. Tighten all fasteners in an even manner with the system in the correct position E. It is most important that the system sits in an unstressed position N.b. re-check all fasteners after first 50 miles. Injection/ ignition settings Use standard factory settings for fuelling and ignition timing. Idle speed may need adjusting (fig 4) Now perform ECU re-set. Disconnect battery for 60 seconds, re connect allow machine to idle for 10 minutes before riding. The above details are typical to most machines with this kind of engine fitted and have been tried and tested to the best of our ability. However we cannot be held responsible or, control the many factors that affect an engines performance, if yours does not respond to the above base line settings it may be necessary to re jet and/or adjust as required. Please note flame blow back at tail pipe on deceleration and heat coloration on the connector pipe, entry bend or main system is normal, and cannot be avoided due to the high exhaust gas temperature.
