2005 Greendale High School Marching Band at Band Camp in August
University of Wisconsin middotEau Claire ~ _ Blugold Marching Band ~ ~
Dr Randal C Dickerson
director
In the past few years the
Blugdd Marching Band has
become one of the most active
and energetic groups on the
UWEC campus In 2004 the
BMB gave ten performances
including half-time at a Green
Bay Packers game four
Blugdd home football games
one away game at St Johns
Un iversity two exhibitionstwo
parades and a stage show at
Gantner Concert Hall
In 2003 The Blugdd Marching
Band went through an image transformation during which
a new more energetic style of marching was introduced
The style of the BMB combines the marching style
of drum and bugle corps
with the high energy
level of some of the
great show bands of the
south The result is
powerful and exciting
and is sure to enliven
any crowd
Membership is open to
students of any major
and represents virtually
every discipline and
department on campus
While music majors are
still the largest single
group in the band
non-music majors now make up 55 of the group The
size of the band has almost tripled in the past five years
Of the five university marching bands in Wisconsin the
BMB is second in size only to th e Badger Band At 172
members it is also one ofthe largest NCAA Division III
bands in America
