20 days workshop on Web Technologies
(26-09-2016 to 15-10-2016)
A 20 days workshop on “Web Technologies” was organized during 26th
September 2016 to 15th October 2016
by Department of Computer Science and
Engineering for Second and final year
students. Industry experts were called
to deliver the contents of workshop
during the aforesaid period and talked
about the CMS ,Wordpress (Installation
and Operation), Wordpress (Structure),
MySQL ,PHP, HTML, CSS, Jquery,
Javascript ,Server ,Definition, Hosting,
C-Panel, Operating Over Linux , Mock
Test, and Hosting. Mr. Kapil Dev Sharma,
HOD (CSE) congratulated all the
students for the successful completion of
this workshop and motivated them to do
some of the Live Project by using
aforesaid technologies.
Quiz contest
(03-10-2016)
A Technical quiz contest was held on
Tuesday, 03-10-2016 which includes the
areas of technical and general awareness
for all the students of Electronics and
Communication Engineering department.
The contest was divided into two rounds.
In the first round, multiple choice
questions based on mental ability and
general awareness were included while in
second round the technical questions
related to the syllabus were included. The
Top ten students were qualified in the first
round and step towards the next round for
technical round. The student Mr. Dikshant
Pandey, ECE, 3rd Year scoring highest
marks was declared as the winner.
SPICMACAY
(20-10-2016)
An event by SPICMACAY is organized at
RIET chotu Ram Seminar Hall on 20th
October 2016.In which the famous
violinist Ustad Johar Ali khan
mesmerized the audience with his cords
.SPICMACAY is the society which
inculcate our art and culture into young
minds all over the nation. Johar Ali
Khan is Classical Indian violinist. He is
the son and disciple of the Late Ustad
Gohar Ali Khan of Rampur, one of the
greatest violin geniuses. He belongs to
the Patiala Gharana of Rampur. He is the
only living classical violinist from Patiala
Gharana after his father - late Ustatd
Gohar Ali Khan. His grandfather was
Ustad Ali Baksh, the founder of Patiala
Gharana,

Photography Contest
(22-10-2016)
Photography contest was organized for
all the students of RIET, in the month of
October 2016, in which they had to click
the photographs of the campus (infra
structure).The event was judged by Ku.
Bhim Singh ji, Chairman (RIET) & Sh.
R.S. Tomar, Chairman BOG (RIET). Mr.
Rohit Kumar ,B.Tech (ECE) was declared
as a winner & awarded with a cash prize
of Rs 1100/-and Mr. Kamran Khan ,
B.Tech I year was declared as a runner
up & awarded with a cash prize of Rs
500/-.Students participated
enthusiastically and a great number of
students sent in their entries. The
contestants were judged according to
the quality of the photographs they had
sent.
Fast Tracking Road Safety
Initiative in Rajasthan
(24-10-2016)
Road Federation (IRF) is launching its Road
Safety Mission in each State of the Union to
help spread the Road safety initiative all over
the country .The initiative commences
with Conference in Jaipur. A one -
day Conference was organized by IRF on the
theme of "Fast Tracking Road Safety Initiative
in Rajasthan" on Monday 24-10-2016 at the
Hotel Lalit Jaipur. The Inaugural Sessions, were
held from 10.00 to 11.00 hrs has been followed
by four Technical Sessions based on the 4Es of
Engineering, Education, Emergency Care and
Enforcement. Mr. Yunus Khan (PWD Minister of
Rajasthan) was the chief guest. the session one
was chaired by Mr. R. K. Pandey, Member, NHAI
& Mr. Shivlahiri Sharma, Chief Engineer, P. W. D
who delivered thoughts on Black spot
Identification and Engineering Interventions on
Rajasthan Roads and Role of Road Safety
Audits and Black spot Study – Process,
Engineering Interventions, Implementation
respectively. In Session two Adoption of Road
Safety Curriculum by Schools – its current
status and fast tracking efforts in the State of
Rajasthan by Dr. Mridula Bhasin, President,
Muskaan Foundation and Innovation in Road
Safety Education – Experience Sharing by Ms.
Deepa Menon, Sr. VP, PVR Nest were shared. In
Technical Session three Enhanced First Aid
Trauma Care Training to Help Victims during the
Golden Hour was discussed by Dr. Subodh
Kumar, AIIMS and by Dr. Maya Tandon .the
session four was chaired by Mr. Atul Shukla, VP,
Traffic Division, 3M where they shared his views
on Use of Intelligent Transport Solutions as a
tool for Traffic Enforcement.
One Day Seminar on CADD
The Department of Mechanical
Engineering, RIET-Jaipur, organized a
one Day seminar by CADD CENTRE .The
seminar was a great success and the
motive of explaining the requirements
and the application of CAD training has
been achieved. The seminar was
presented by the CADD Centre
representative who explained us the
motive of such courses and their
industrial application which would help
students to get placed in the particular
sector.

One week Workshop on New Manufacturing Technologies
through ICT
(07.11.2016 to 11.11.2016)
The Department of Mechanical
Engineering has organized a One week
Workshop on “New Manufacturing Technologies” through ICT-34 from
07.11.2016 to 11.11.2016. The course
was sponsored by NITTTR,
CHANDIGARH. Principal, RIET, Dr. Saroj
Hiranwal and Dean (Academics) Mr. Kapil
Dev Sharma, inaugurated the program
by lightening the lamp. About 15
participants from Mechanical department
of the RIET participated in the course.
Total 12 sessions has been conducted on
different topics like Water Jet Machining,
Laser Beam Machining, Chemical
Machining and EDM. The closing
ceremony of program held on 11-11-
2016. Mr.Raghav Singh Dhakar, Program
Coordinator, HOD-ME gave Vote of
thanks to the participants and NITTTR.
IBM Watson IOT Workshop
(13-12-2016)
As a part of IBM Academic Initiative, a
team of evangelists from Persistent
Systems Ltd., Pune conducted one day
workshop on “IBM Watson IoT & Bluemix” on 13th December 2016 for our
engineering students and faculty
members. Mr. Amol Kulkarni – Senior
Technical Evangelist, Mr. Ajay Kumar –
Technical Evangelist, Mr. Sanket Bhalerao
– Technical Evangelist conducted this
workshop. Mr. Amol Kulkarni – Senior
Technical Evangelist has covered topics like
Internet of Things on IBM Bluemix (cloud
platform), Introduction of IBM Watson IoT
Platform, and Overview of Internet of
Things: How it works. Overview of Node.JS
and Node-RED, Explore Watson IoT, IoT
Demos, Practical Assignments using IBM
Watson IoT, Guide students to use free
access to IBM software, courses etc
Principal Dr. Saroj Hiranwal addressed the
participants and gave the vote of thanks to
the team of evangelists for sharing the
knowledge on Watson IoT & Bluemix at the
end of session.
NEN E - Leader Workshop
(15-12-2016 to 16-12-2016)

was attended by students. This aims to

ICT based Short Term Course on
Advances in Optical Fiber Communication technology
(19-12-2016 to 23-10-2016)
An ICT based Short Term Course on
“Advances in Optical Fiber
Communication technology“, NITTTR
(Chandigarh) was organized by dept. of
applied sciences from 19-12-2016 to 23-
12-2016. The program was inaugurated
by Prof.(Dr.) Saroj Hiranwal, Principal
and Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean
Academics by lighting lamp which was
accompanied by the HODs of all the
departments as wells as faculty
members, Prof. B.C.Choudhary, Core
Coordinator, NITTTR gave the brief
introduction of the program. Total 23
participants from various departments of
the college participated in the course.
Total 6 sessions were conducted on
topics like principle, construction and
working, types, application areas of
optical fiber communication.
Seminar on Recent trends in software and telecommunication industry
(24-12-26
A one day seminar on recent trends in
software and telecommunication industry
was organized at RIET by Mr. Dalbir
Dahiya, Vice president, Reliance
Communications. Mr. Dahiya addressed the
faculty and students with their words of
wisdom. He talked about the recent trends
in software industry like big data, SPARK,
Hadoop, cloud computing, agile
technology, and also talked about the LTE
in 4G mobile communication. He discussed
about the challenges faced in industries
and interacted with students about the
issues.
Industrial Visits
One week Industrial Visit to Havells
& Philips
(Department of CSE and ECE)
Department of CSE and ECE jointly
organized a one week industrial tour as
per the curriculum of Rajasthan
Technical University. Students of B.Tech
IIIrd year (CSE &ECE) and M.B.A visited
Havells and Philips industries. Here
students learned lots of things like
working culture of industries,
mechanism of the automated plants,
coordination among management and
workers. In Havells, they demonstrated
the MCB’s, switches, etc. and packaging of switches while in Phillips they taught
the assembling of electronic items such
as iron, mixer, etc. After the visit
students explored Chandigarh and
Manali.

One day industrial visit to Manu
Yantralaya Ltd.
(The Department of Mechanical Engineering)
The Department of Mechanical
Engineering, RIET-Jaipur organized a
one day Industrial visit to Manu
Yantralaya Ltd located in Sitapura
Industrial Area. Manu Yantralaya (P) Ltd.
was established in 1988 for initially
manufacturing gasket for spark plugs at
Jaipur. In 1989, Manu Yantralaya started
manufacturing semi-finished Ball
Bearing Cages and is a prominent
supplier to the well known bearing
manufacturing company NBC.
They then developed Ball Bearing Dust
Shield and started supplying them to
FAG. Also, they had setup press lines
from Japan for production of Ball Bearing Cages and Pre-riveted Cages.
Ever since then, they have established
their own identity in the global market,
catering to the ball bearing and
automotive industry. Apart from
supplying to major bearing companies
such as SKF, FAG, NBC, NSK, NACHI,
TATA, NRB, SKF SEALING SOLUTIONS,
INA, etc., they are also exporting bearing
parts and auto parts to global players
across the world.
The students were allowed to visit their
ball bearing cage manufacturing sections
where they were introduced to certain
sections of the production. The following
are the processes for the manufacturing of
a semi-finished ball bearing cages-
Blanking, Barreling, Vibration oiling, cage
forming, lining, rivet inserting, oiling,
visual inspection and finally packing.
One week industrial visit to
AMTEK
(The Department of Mechanical Engineering)
RIET had organized an Industrial visit to
AMTEK – Automotive division especially for
Department of Mechanical Engineering
students of IIIrd Year in order to enhance
their practical experience and Industrial
exposure by letting students have an
overview of the manufacturing process of
components made by the companies.
The Amtek Group, headquartered in India,
is one of the largest integrated component
manufacturers in India with a strong global
presence. The Group has operations across
Forging, Iron and Aluminum Casting,
Machining and Sub-Assemblies. It has
world-class facilities across India, Japan,
Thailand, Germany, Hungary, Italy,
Romania, UK, Brazil, Mexico and US. The
Amtek Group is comprised of corporate
entities Amtek Auto, JMT Auto, Amtek
Global Technologies and other subsidiaries
and associates. With the infrastructure and
technology platform developed over 25
years, the Group is well positioned in the
Indian Auto and Non-Auto component
markets.
Students visited Forging Department which
was followed by machining Division and
Tool Room Division where they saw and
learnt about injection molding machines.
During the visit students learnt about
manufacturing process of various
automotive parts widely used in two
wheelers to tractors in India.

One week Industrial visit to Elin
appliances
(Department of Electrical Engineering
and Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
The Department of Electrical Engineering
and Electrical & Electronics Engineering,
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering &
Technology,Jaipur organized a seven
days Industrial visit to JAIPUR- BADDI-
MANALI – ROHTANG PASS –
CHANDIGARH – JAIPUR from 3rd Oct to
9th-Oct-2016 for B.Tech. 3rd Year
students. The students Visited Elin
Appliances Pvt. Ltd. The students were
benefited in terms of the technical
details provided by the company on
different types of processes at Elin
Appliances Pvt. Ltd. They learnt about
Product Lifecycle and technology used in
industry.
C-DAC Internship Drive Tech Sangam Program
(21-12-2016)
C-DAC “Tech Sangam Program” is a National initiative of Academia-Industry
Collaboration Program. Under this
program, there various programs are
available for students as well as faculties.
These programs are promoted by
Government for capacity building for the
nation and stakeholder can get advantages
of them for getting better knowledge and
opportunities thereby bridging the gap
between the industry and the academia.
Following were highlights of this
Internship-
Practical approach based training, focused
on lab assignments only.
Project Management tools like GITHUB,
KanbanChe, and PMTool etc. training to
ensure complete environmental growth
among students.
With initial training, candidate will be
deployed in the live project, which will be
governed by IT division (Net Param
Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) of C-DAC ATC
Deadline based working approach to make
student professionals as “ready to deploy”. 8 hours per day dedicated working to
enhance the skill set of the candidates.
Under this scheme dept. of MCA organized
a Drive for the internship Purpose.

credits.
On 5th of December, 2016 he was
awarded with a certificate of Student
Brand Ambassador for his outstanding
performance in Research projects by
Rajasthan Institute of Engineering &
Technology. We wish to continue
providing platform to Mr. Sanjay
Laxminarayan and such other talented
students for being the jewels of India in
the field of Research and Innovations.
