QwikPost Installation Guide
QwikPost Repair Spike • Helps repair broken posts set in concrete• Suitable for fences up to 1.8m• Accommodates 75x75mm fence posts
Square off the base of the broken post.
Use the Bolt-down Support base as a template to mark position of holes and drill to suit 4 x 10mm expanding bolts (not supplied). Ensure the bolts in the QwikPost are positioned at 90˚ to the line of the fence.
QwikPost Bolt-down Support• Ideal for solid surfaces such as patios or driveways• Suitable for fences up to 1.8m• Accommodates 50x50mm,75x75mm and 100x100mm fence posts
QwikPost Spike • Ideal for soft ground areas• Twin-bolt system for secure fixing• Suitable for fences up to 1.8m• Accommodates 50x50mm, 75x75mm and 100x100mm fence posts
Check position of any underground services and other major obstructions (large stones, etc)*. Mark out line of fence and drive in the first QwikPost Spike with the Drive-in Tool and sledge hammer, using short firm strokes. Ensure the QwikPost Spike is positioned with the bolts at 90° to the line of the fence.
Place fence post into the box of spike and tighten the bolts until secure.
QwikPost Concrete-in Post• For use in areas of hard standing or where the ground
prevents use of a QwikPost Spike• Suitable for fences up to 1.8m• Accommodates 75x75mm and 100x100mm fence posts
Place bolt down support over the bolts and check for vertical alignment – it may be necessary to pack under the base. Tighten the bolts to secure.
Fill the hole with concrete ensuring the concrete fully surrounds the legs of the Post and allow to cure (at least 24 hours) before installing the new fence post.
After every few strokes check vertical alignment with spirit level and adjust as necessary. Check horizontal alignment and adjust. Drive in until the box of the Spike is just above ground level.
Fix Qwikpost U-Clips to fence post with galvanized or sheradized round head nails. Use at least two clips per side of each panel. Clips should be positioned 200-250mm from top and bottom of fence panel.
Locate fence panel into U-Clips and secure with galvanised nails. The bottom of the fence panel should be positioned just above ground level.
Drive in second Qwikpost Spike at the end of the fence panel and repeat steps 2 to 6.
Tap the Repair Spike in between the old post and the concrete base until the box of the Repair Spike is just above the level of the concrete. Ensure the bolts in the Repair Spike are at 90° to the line of the fence.
Place new fence post into box of Repair Spike and tighten the bolts until secure.
Dig hole, at least 450mm square by 450mm deep (for a CON75) and partially fill with concrete.
Place Concrete-in Post in centre of hole, ensuring the box is slightly above the finished level of concrete. The bolts in the QwikPost should be positioned at 90° to the line of the fence. Check the post for vertical and horizontal alignment.
