4 Quincy College /// COVID-19 Reopening Protocol
Dear College Community,
Thank you all for your continued effort and support of our Quincy College students
throughout the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. It is because of your efforts the college continues to
serve our students to the best of our ability and assist them with achieving their goals and
realizing their dreams. We need to continue our efforts as we shift into limited on campus
activity in the future.
With the fall semester around the corner, I thought it was important to update the college
community by sharing our COVID-19 Reopening Plan. It is clear we need to be vigilant with
regard to equipping the campus with the protocols which fall in line with the Center of Disease
Control (CDC), state, and local public health authorities in government. This plan has been
revised from the original in May.
We have worked diligently on campus to provide a safe and healthy learning
environment for all of our students, staff, and faculty. Protective shields, socially distance
markers, and classrooms with up to a 20-person maximum capacity are in place. Personal
Protection Equipment (PPE), is available if requested, along with hand sanitizer available in all
areas. We have instituted upgraded cleaning protocols in both campuses and a tracer system in
order to be aware who is on campus at any given time.
We will continue to monitor all compliance and established protocols and remain aware
of the challenges we all face as a nation and world until a vaccine is identified. Together we will
be successful but must be cautious in our approach and consistently aware that situations can
change rapidly as it has so many times over the past 6 months.
We are pleased that our faculty and college staff have had the ability to work and
transition successfully for our students. As we move into the fall semester our faculty will be
utilizing their on-line skills to fulfill our students’ academic needs.
Should you have any questions regarding this plan or other matters related to the college,
please contact me directly at 617-984-1776.
Sincerely,
Dr. Richard DeCristofaro
Quincy College President

Quincy College On Campus Activity Guidelines
Masks are required for entrance into President’s Place, Saville Hall, and the Plymouth
campus and must be worn at all times.
Social Distance based on 6FT, signage and markers will be installed throughout the
campus and classrooms.
Common areas of the college (library, student lounge) will be closed. Students unless
scheduled in class or with an appointment on campus will need to vacate the college
when their activity is completed.
Elevators will be at limited capacity based on building guidelines and will be monitored
by security.
Continued cleaning and disinfectant throughout the day will be provided by college and
building staff as necessary.
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building. PPE will be available if
requested. Protective Shields will be placed in classrooms for the instructor(s). Partitions
and face shields are also being purchased for utilization as necessary.
All students and staff are required to stay home if not feeling well and report their
situation to a health care provider and the college as necessary.
In the event of a positive COVID-19 test, faculty and staff are requested to inform Chris
Bell (617) 984-1798 at [email protected]; students are requested to inform
Jennifer Luddy at (617) 984-1657 at [email protected].
All students and staff should leave the campus if not feeling well and report their
situation to the college immediately. If it becomes necessary to seek health care all
students and staff will report their information to the college as well.
Faculty will be required to record attendance in all classes to create a record and
necessary tracing protocol in the event of a COVID-19 surge. As a backup we will be
installing card check in readers for students in Presidents Place, Saville, and Plymouth.
6 Quincy College /// COVID-19 Reopening Protocol
Q & A with Quincy Health Commissioner Ruth Jones:
Q-If someone is in the same place as someone who is exposed to the virus what is the proper
protocol?
A- If a person was near someone who thinks they were exposed, nothing is done unless the
exposed person becomes a confirmed case. A close contact is within 6 ft. of someone for more
than 15 minutes whether wearing a mask or not.
Q-With regard to office and work space in a building, what are the parameters around
shared space?
A- Space sharing is allowed as long as there is 6 feet or more between each work space in a
room. Partitions are not necessary if people are 6 feet apart. Should have partitions if counter or
desk is exposed to public coming into the space.
Q-Do I need to wear a mask in my shared space?
A-As long as there are 6 feet between members of a shared space, the mask is not necessary.
However, if you move around in the shared space, you must wear a mask.

Protocol Guidelines
Four Main Concepts as Designated by the Reopening Massachusetts Plan
Cover – Wash – Distance – Vigilance
Note
Quincy College recognizes that some faculty and staff may have reasons that prevent you from returning
to the campus. If you have been exposed to the virus and must continue quarantine, are caring for
someone with or recovering from COVID-19, have been advised by a health care provider to quarantine,
are caring for a child(ren) without childcare options or any other qualifying reason please contact the
Office of Human Resources at [email protected].
In accordance with the following guidelines set forth by the State of Massachusetts
protocol, Quincy College has taken the necessary protocols for a transition to on campus
activity for staff. Please be advised any and all protocols are subject to be amended or
changed should the CDC, the State of MA, or Quincy Board of Health mandate or deem
changes necessary.
Additionally, Quincy College will continue to work with Related Beale for the Quincy
Campus and Cordage Park for the Plymouth Campus in accordance with any protocols or
guidelines set forth by both as landlords for the property the college uses in both locations.

Quincy College /// COVID-19 Reopening Protocol 9
MASSACHUSETTS SECTOR SPECIFIC WORKPLACE SAFETY STANDARDS FOR
OFFICE SPACES TO ADDRESS COVID-19
As of May 18, 2020
These sector specific COVID-19 workplace safety standards for Office Spaces are issued
to provide businesses and other organizations operating within general use office spaces
and workers in these office spaces with instructions to help protect against the spread of
COVID-19.
These standards are minimum requirements only and are not exclusive or exhaustive. The
public health data and matrix for disease prevention upon which these guidelines are
based can and does change frequently, and the operator of the office space is accountable
for adhering to all local, state and federal requirements. The operator of the office space
is also responsible for staying abreast of any updates to these requirements.
Standards for Responsible Office Spaces in Massachusetts
No activity in office spaces can occur without meeting the following sector specific
COVID-19 workplace safety standards. These standards apply to all businesses and other
organizations operating in general use office space until rescinded or amended by the
State.
The following workplace specific safety standards are organized around four distinct
categories covering Social Distancing, Hygiene Protocols, Staffing and Operations, and
Cleaning and Disinfecting.
I. Social Distancing
• Businesses and other organizations shall limit occupancy within their office space to no
more than 50 percent of (a) the maximum occupancy level specified in any certificate of
occupancy or similar permit or as provided for under the state building code; or (b) the
business or organization’s typical occupancy as of March 1, 2020. Any business or other
organization that has been operating as a “COVID-19 Essential Service” as of May 18,
2020 shall have until July 1, 2020 to comply with these occupancy limitations
• Businesses and other organizations may exceed this maximum occupancy level based
on a demonstrated need for relief based on public health or public safety considerations
or where strict compliance may interfere with the continued delivery of critical services
• Ensure separation of 6 feet or more between individuals unless this creates a safety
hazard due to the nature of the work or the configuration of the workspace. Close or
reconfigure worker common spaces and high density areas where workers are likely to
10 Quincy College /// COVID-19 Reopening Protocol
congregate (e.g., break rooms, eating areas) to allow 6 feet of physical distancing;
redesign work stations to ensure physical distancing (e.g., separate tables, use distance
markers to assure spacing).
Cafeterias may operate only with prepackaged food, practicing physical distancing and
appropriate hygiene measures. Physical partitions must separate workstations that cannot
be spaced out (partitions must be taller than a standing workers). Establish directional
hallways and passageways for foot traffic if possible, to minimize contact. Post clearly
visible signage regarding these policies. Limit visitors where feasible, and avoid
congregation in common areas (e.g., lobbies)
• Designate assigned working areas (e.g., floor, building) to individuals where possible to
limit movement throughout the facility and limit contact between workers
• Stagger work schedules and improve ventilation for enclosed spaces where possible
(e.g., open doors and windows)
• Limit meeting sizes, ensure 6 feet of social distancing, encourage remote participation
• Stagger lunch and break times, regulating maximum number of people in one place and
ensuring at least 6 feet of physical distancing
• Minimize the use of confined spaces (e.g., elevators, control rooms, vehicles) by more
than one individual at a time; all workers in such spaces at the same time are required to
wear face coverings
II. Hygiene Protocols
• Ensure access to handwashing facilities on site, including soap and running water,
wherever possible and encourage frequent handwashing; alcohol-based hand sanitizers
with at least 60% alcohol may be used as an alternative
• Supply workers at workplace location with adequate cleaning products (e.g., sanitizer,
disinfecting wipes)
• Require regular and not less than daily cleaning and sanitation of all high-touch areas
such as workstations, door handles, and restrooms
• Avoid sharing use of office materials / equipment or disinfect equipment between use
(e.g., telephones, fax machines)
• Post visible signage throughout the site to remind workers of the hygiene and safety
protocols
Quincy College /// COVID-19 Reopening Protocol 11
III. Staffing and Operations
Establish and communicate a worksite specific COVID-19 Prevention Plan for all
office locations, including: Contact information for local health authorities,
including the MA Department of Public Health, and your local / municipal Health
Authority.
Regularly evaluate all workspaces to ensure compliance with all Federal, State
and Local Guidelines
Isolation, Contact Tracing, and Communication plan for if a worker is diagnosed
as positive with COVID-19, or comes into close contact (within 6 feet for 10
minutes or more) with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 working with
Center for Disease Control, Department of Public Health, and City of Quincy
protocols.
Provide training to workers on up-to-date safety information and precautions
including hygiene and other measures aimed at reducing disease transmission,
including: Social distancing, hand-washing, proper use of face coverings.
Advise self-screening at home, including temperature or symptom checks.
Encouraged not to come to work if ill, and communicate with supervisor.
Advise to seek medical attention if symptoms become severe.
All staff, faculty and students must wear face coverings when social distancing of
6 feet is not possible, except where unsafe due to medical condition or disability
Employers should establish adjusted workplace hours and shifts for workers (if
working in person, leverage working teams with different schedules or staggered
arrival / departure) to minimize contact across workers and reduce congestion at
entry points
Limit visitors and service providers on site; shipping and deliveries should be
completed in designated areas
Limit business sponsored travel and comply with state and federal travel
restrictions / guidelines
All staff, faculty and students must stay home if feeling ill
All staff, faculty and students who have a qualifying reason with regard to
COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (e.g., due to underlying
conditions) that may prevent on-campus/remote work should reach out to the
College as soon as practicable.
All staff, faculty and students are strongly encouraged to self-identify symptoms
or any close contact to a known or suspected COVID-19 case to the College
Encourage all staff, faculty and students who test positive for COVID-19, to
disclose to the College for purposes of cleaning / disinfecting and contact tracing.
If the College is notified of a positive case at the College, the College should
notify the local Board of Health (LBOH) where the College is located and work
with them to trace likely contacts in the College and advise staff, faculty, and
12 Quincy College /// COVID-19 Reopening Protocol
students to isolate and self-quarantine. Testing of other staff, faculty, and students
may be recommended consistent with guidance and / or at the request of the
LBOH
Post notice throughout the College of important health information and relevant
safety measures as outlined in government guidelines
Log everyone who comes in contact with site to enable contact tracing, including
temporary visitors (e.g., those doing material drop-offs) .
IV. Cleaning and Disinfecting
Conduct frequent cleaning and disinfection of site (at least daily and more frequently if
feasible)
Keep cleaning logs that include date, time, and scope of cleaning
Conduct frequent disinfecting of heavy transit areas and high-touch surfaces (e.g.,
doorknobs, elevator buttons, staircases, vending machine, bathrooms)
Clean shared spaces (e.g., conference rooms) between use and supply cleaning products
(e.g., sanitizer, disinfecting wipes).

In addition to the regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance of our facility we
have added the following protective measures:
• Posted Health Department Advisory for COVID-19 for public buildings with
Common Areas at all entries.
• We have ordered an update of our tenant directory to provide clearer wayfinding
for visitors to limit unnecessary traffic in the buildings. This will include entry
points spelled out and mapped on the directory for each tenant.
• Cordage maintenance/janitorial staff must always wear face mask/coverings while
in the buildings
• Cleaning personnel must also wear gloves and social distance with tenants and
vendors
• All common bathrooms will be sanitized twice per day
• High Touch Surfaces (i.e. Door handles, elevators, and railings) will be sanitized

Electrostatic sprayers will utilize hdqC2 which is an approved disinfectant with a neutral pH. Desks, keyboards, mouse, and telephones will be sprayed from a three-foot distance to prevent damage. In Tenant spaces where there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19, our cleaning vendor will work to perform the disinfection services within 24-48 hours of notice.
The disinfectant spray “fogs” the air with an ionized disinfectant, applying an even coating on all surfaces and effectively killing the virus. Landlord’s cleaning vendor will wipe down electronics after
cleaning is complete.
If a Tenant has a positive case, Tenant should immediately notify Landlord. A cleaning of the Tenant space will be required.
