Week of Prayer for Christian Unity:

The Theme chosen for 2020 is, "They Showed Us Unusual Kindness" (Acts:27:18-28-10) The theme stresses the unusual kind-ness given by St. Paul, something that must be seen in the quest for Christian Unity. Through unusual kindness towards one another, Christians are drawn closer together, heeding the prayer of Jesus, 'that they may all be one'. Pope Francis reminds us of this when he says; ‘Because of their baptism, all members of the People of God have now become missionary disci-ples…. We no longer say that we are missionaries or that we are disciples. But rather that we are always ‘missionary disci-ples’. (The Joy of the Gospel: 120). There must also be an awareness of the need for hospitality to the many migrants and refugees who today embark on journeys as dangerous as that of St. Paul.

As a Church, throughout the world, we celebrate today World Day of Prayer for Migrants and Refugees.
