405 MARETHA FOURIECrazy Quilt Making Class Description

The magic of this quilt genre lies in the variety of fabric, colours and textures which is usedtogether in a disorderly strong contrasting manner. It is further enhancedby exquisite embroidery. There are no preconceived ideas on how itshould look or being done. This idea was in total contrast of the quiltmaking styles of the 19th century with the formal log cabin method ofpiecing which became also popular because of the availability of thesewing machine. The latter was a strict formal quick and easy quilt style. Both of them was in syncwith the colour and light play of the impressionistiic art paintings. Crazy quilts are the forerunnerfor art quilts . This workshop is a wonderful experience to introduce you to the textile arts.Die las van vier kriskrasdiamantblokke en deel van die sierwerk sal in die klas afgehandel kan
