Using the MSEP Job Search

to find your next career

You can search for jobs without logging in. However, to view details on an opportunity, apply for jobs and use features like the MSEP Candidate Search, you must log in with your Department of Defense Self-Service Logon. If necessary, set up your DS Logon and get started.

Accessing the MSEP Job Search tool

The MSEP Job Search tool is easy to use and even easier to find. You can access it in a couple different ways.

From the MySECO home page, click ‘MSEP Job Search’ in the tools display below the main slider.

From the Quicklinks located to the right on most pages, click ‘MSEP Job Search.’

My Saved Partners is where you will find any partner employers you have saved in the MSEP Job Search for future reference. Click the bookmark icon on a partner to save it to My Saved Partners, or click it again to remove it.

The MSEP Candidate Search takes the work out of finding a job by letting partner employers find and contact you about opportunities. Simply go to your account settings, ensure your information is up-to-date and opt in to get started. If you prefer not to share your information, just select ‘No’ and click ‘Save.’

Using your MSEP Dashboard

The MSEP Dashboard is your personalized source for keeping track of saved MSEP employer partners and controlling your MSEP Candidate Search opt-in settings.

Featured MSEP Partners: Check out this scrolling list of partner employers to see if one catches your eye. Click on the partner logo for more information about that organization or click the bookmark icon to save it for later. You can find a list of your saved partners in your MSEP Dashboard.

Search: Enter information relevant to the type of job you’re searching for here. Do a quick search by typing in the desired job title or keyword and your location, or click ‘Refine Your Search’ to see new criteria such as industry and job type.

Hot Jobs: This area focuses on job listings that will be expiring soon, so make sure to jump on these before they’re gone! You can see a quick sampling of some of the hot jobs available or click on ‘View All’ for the full list.

Finding the right job

Searching for a job with the MSEP Job Search tool is fast and easy.

Enter keywords and other information to narrow your results. For example, to look for a teaching job, enter “Teacher” under job title. Limit the search further by entering your location. You can also simply click ‘Search’ with all fields blank to see a list of all available jobs.

From the search results page, use the ‘Filter Your Results’ sidebar to refine your search according to industry, partner, job type, telework and hot job opportunities. You can also limit your search to a specific mile radius from your ZIP code.

To modify your search to find a nursing job, for instance, use the drop-down menu under “Industries” and select “Health Care,” or click on the “Partners” drop-down menu to browse through the list of partner employers to find companies and organizations in the health care sector.

Applying for a job

When you a find a specific job posting that interests you, click on it for more information. If you are not logged in to MySECO, you will be directed to do so before viewing that job. Once you’re logged in, view additional information about the job, its requirements and the partner employer. If you’re interested in applying, click ‘Apply,’ and you’ll be directed to the company or organization website where you can submit your application.
