E X P E R I E N C E Q U I C K R E F E R E N C E G U I D E , V . 1 P A R T 1 This is a guide to where to find stuff in the Subnet, based off the notes I made while exploring in it (and with some help from the Submachine Wiki). Obviously this contains a hideous amount of spoilers, but only for the locations of things. If you want plot spoilers, go to the wiki (linked below) — this guide is generally more detailed than the wiki in terms of the exact locations of items and clues, but there’s no plot stuff listed here. Someday I might do a more in-depth guide, but for now I just need something to trade on Scribd, so this will have to do. This is Part 1, which deals with coordinates, clues that hint at coordinates, and where to find them. Part 2 will deal with where to find useful items, and Part 3 with how to find the various user-submitted theories scattered throughout the Subnet. All parts of this guide are totally open-source, so do whatever you want with them. Find the circular screen (this location consists of a random series of looped rooms, so just keep going around until you find it), which contains a theory by “SmartGuy5000”; at the end of the theory is “SmartGuy - 4989”.

Gray oval with “3” at Position 1 — like location 917, the rooms in this place loop randomly, so just go up from the Portal and then head in either direction, and eventually you’ll find the gray oval (to get back to the Portal, just find a place that lets you go up and then go back down).

Location 987. The metal plaque under the bricked-up window 1 screen left of the Portal reads “PROTOCOL ACCORDANT RETREAT = THIS - QI”. The numbers 157 are seen near the phrase “PROTOCOL ACCORDANT RETREAT” in the document at the end of the latter in Location 613, and in Location 157 another metal plaque says “QI = THIS + 475”. So from all that, you get the algebraic equation “157 = THIS - 632”, and “THIS” is 355 (which is confusing because it’s the only time “THIS” is used to mean anything besides “the coordinate numbers for the location you’re in”).

The gray ovals with lights and numbers on them spell this out: Gray oval with “3” at Position 1 — Location 923. The rooms in this place loop randomly, so just go up from the Portal and then head in either direction, and eventually you’ll find the gray oval (to get back to the Portal, just find a place that lets you go up and then go back down). Gray oval with “7” at Position 2 — Location 628, on wall over chair at farthest left. Gray oval with “8” at Position 3 — Location 461. From Portal: 1 left, 2 up, 5 right, 1 down, 1 right, 1 up.

399 Location 628. “THIS - 229” can be found on a metal plaque on the wall under the left-hand yin-yang picture (from Portal: 1 left). “THIS” means “the coordinates you’re at”, so it’s really 628 - 229.

404 Location 006: “ERROR 404” is written on metal plaque in room 1 right and 1 down from Portal.

At Location 100, you can find “THIS + FI” at farthest right, on a metal plaque on the ceiling pipe (“THIS” = 100, the coords you’re at). At Location 304, “FI = 342” is written on the metal plaque in the crawl space (from Portal: 1 up, 2 right).

452 Location 747. Mouse-over (from the top down) the signs on the wall 1 screen to the right of the Portal and you’ll get “G-B-H” on one side and “D-E-B” on the other. D = 4th letter in alphabet, so...
