Obviously this contains a hideous amount of spoilers, but only for the locations of things. If you want plot spoilers, go to the wiki (linked below) — this guide is generally more detailed than the wiki in terms of the exact locations of items and clues, but there’s no plot stuff listed here. Someday I might do a more in-depth guide, but for now I just need something to trade on Scribd, so this will have to do. This is Part 1, which deals with coordinates, clues that hint at coordinates, and where to find them. Part 2 will deal with where to find useful items, and Part 3 with how to find the various user-submitted theories scattered throughout the Subnet. All parts of this guide are totally open-source, so do whatever you want with them. Thanks to Mateusz Skutnik (http://www.pastelgames.com/ ) for spending so much time and effort on this wonderful series, and to the good folks over at the Submachine Wiki (http://submachine.wikia.com/wiki/ ) for all their time and effort and for giving me the inspiration to make this guide. “Submachine Network Exploration Experience”, version 4 (70 locations, 31 theories, collectable items and an inventory) is available for free right here: http://www.submachineworld.com/subnet.html

DESCRIPTION

A guide to where to find stuff in Mateusz Skutnik's single-player online environment "Submachine Network Exploration Experience" (http://www.submachineworld.com/subnet.html). This is not a walkthrough, because A) SNEE isn't a game and B) there's no "correct" way to proceed through it.This is Part 1 of the guide. It contains three tables -- Coordinates & clues listed by location, Locations listed by coordinates, and Locations listed by clues. Part 2 will deal with where to find useful items, and Part 3 will tell you where to find the user-submitted theories that made it into the environment.Keep in mind that this is just the first version of this guide -- I know I worded things confusingly in some places, and I'm not totally happy with the format, so I'll probably eventually get around to fixing these things.

Locations Listed by Coordinates NOTE: This is a list of A) where to find the coordinates that are just written down somewhere and B) where to find all the clues to the coordinates you have to do puzzles to solve, and also how to solve them. If you’d prefer just knowing where the clues are, so you can do the puzzles yourself without spoilers, skip to the next table on page 12. Coords Where to find them

001 Location 596, in upper-right corner of wall directly behind Portal.

002 Location 104; roman numeral II on pedestal under bell (from Portal: 1 right, 1 down, 1 right).

006 Location 100, on wall-screen at farthest left.

010 Location 404; roman numeral X on pedestal at farthest right (the one with the bell knocked off).

011

Location 917. Find the circular screen (this location consists of a random series of looped rooms, so just keep going around until you find it), which contains a theory by “SmartGuy5000”. At the end of the theory is “SmartGuy - 4989”.

043 Location 770. You’ll find a circle, square, and triangle (no sides, 4 sides, 3 sides) drawn on the 2nd brick up from the floor at the right edge of the screen (you can click on it to zoom in).

051 & 076 Location 000, two of the coordinates listed on the computer.

100

Location 642; the roman numeral C is on the wall panel in the room at farthest right. NOTE: This area will likely slow down your computer, as it has a lot of moving parts.

103 Location 442. The roman numeral CIII is integrated into the design on the buried obelisk thing (2 screens up from the Portal, it’s towards the bottom of the view of the obelisk).

104 Location 462, on right side of floating stone at farthest left.

128

Location 011. To get to the room with the clue, exit the Portal room and, once in the hallway, go through the most distant door on the right. The number groups “100 020 008” can be seen if you mouse-over the little screen on the wall.

— 8

157 Location 613. In the document at the end of the ladder (from Portal: 1 right, 4 down), there is the phrase “gotoAndRest(157)”.

185 Location 757, over the door 1 screen to right of Portal.

218 Location 541, on metal plaque under chair next to Portal.

232 Location 875, written on wall over doorway, 1 screen to right of Portal.

241 Location 902, at end of video shown on viewing device, 1 screen left of Portal.

258 Location 712. There’s a stool to the left of the Portal surrounded by 3 tubes; look through each tube (left-to-right) at the images inside, and there’s a number in the bottom-left corner of each image.

277 Location 523, the lines drawn in groups at the feet of both statues 1 screen to the right of the Portal (mouse-over the statue bases to see them).

291 Location 355, on paper at foot of computer-thing (from Portal: 1 up, 1 right).

304 Location 076, on metal plaque under Cipher Plate box in room 1 down & 1 left from Portal.

317 Location 011. To get to the room with the coords, exit the Portal room and, once in the hallway, go through the most distant door on the right. The coords are part of the picture on the wall.

355

Location 987. The metal plaque under the bricked-up window 1 screen left of the Portal reads “PROTOCOL ACCORDANT RETREAT = THIS - QI”. The numbers 157 are seen near the phrase “PROTOCOL ACCORDANT RETREAT” in the document at the end of the latter in Location 613, and in Location 157 another metal plaque says “QI = THIS + 475”. So from all that, you get the algebraic equation “157 = THIS - 632”, and “THIS” is 355 (which is confusing because it’s the only time “THIS” is used to mean anything besides “the coordinate numbers for the location you’re in”).

378

The gray ovals with lights and numbers on them spell this out: Gray oval with “3” at Position 1 — Location 923. The rooms in this place loop randomly, so just go up from the Portal and then head in either direction, and eventually you’ll find the gray oval (to get back to the Portal, just find a place that lets you go up and then go back down). Gray oval with “7” at Position 2 — Location 628, on wall over chair at farthest left. Gray oval with “8” at Position 3 — Location 461. From Portal: 1 left, 2 up, 5 right, 1 down, 1 right, 1 up.

399 Location 628. “THIS - 229” can be found on a metal plaque on the wall under the left-hand yin-yang picture (from Portal: 1 left). “THIS” means “the coordinates you’re at”, so it’s really 628 - 229.

Page 9: Quick Reference Guide to "Submachine Network Exploration Experience" -- Version 1, Part 1

— 9

404 Location 006: “ERROR 404” is written on metal plaque in room 1 right and 1 down from Portal.

411 Location 580, at end of video shown on viewing device at farthest right.

442

At Location 100, you can find “THIS + FI” at farthest right, on a metal plaque on the ceiling pipe (“THIS” = 100, the coords you’re at). At Location 304, “FI = 342” is written on the metal plaque in the crawl space (from Portal: 1 up, 2 right).

452 Location 747. Mouse-over (from the top down) the signs on the wall 1 screen to the right of the Portal and you’ll get “G-B-H” on one side and “D-E-B” on the other. D = 4th letter in alphabet, so...

461 Location 317, on 8th frame of film strip, 1 screen down from Portal.

462 Location 859. Go to little reading area at farthest left and click on the open book; it’s a record of all the messages from past games, including coordinates. The coordinates 462 are among them.

472

Location 277, on paper taped to machine (from Portal: 1 left, 1 down, 1 right). Alternately, the “A2, B2, C2” clues: “A2 = 4” — Location 966, on metal plaque in top-right corner of wall (from Portal: 1 left). “B2 = 7 ” — Location 378, in left-hand hidey-hole at bottom of ladder. “C2 = 2” — Location 837, on metal plaque on wall in room 1 screen to right of Portal.

523 Location 051: mouse-over the 6-pointed star diagram on wall at farthest left. There are two sets of coordinates there, and 523 is one.

529 Location 859. Go to little reading area at farthest left and click on the open book; it’s a record of all the messages from past games, including coordinates. The coordinates 529 are among them.

541 Location 000, from the computer list.

550 Location 232, on paper taped to wall at farthest left (only piece of paper that looks like it hasn’t got much written on it).

551 Location 000, from the computer list.

552 Location 728: “EEB” written on metal plaque at farthest right (E = 5th letter in alphabet, B = 2nd).

553 Location 411. The roman numeral DLIII is written on a wall plaque. From Portal (relative to the screen rather than the images; this location is sideways): 1 right, 2 up, 1 left.

555 Location 672. “1227 - THIS” written on glowing plaque in top-left corner of room at farthest left. “THIS” = 672.

580 Location 875, written on wall behind broom (from Portal: 2 right).

613

Location 001. The coords are shown on the device through the door at farthest left, when you put a Wisdom Gem into the device. The key to the door is at Location 277; Wisdom Gems can be found at Locations 010, 185, 241, & 917.

628 & 642 Location 000, from computer list.

672 Location 550. “THIS + 122” written on metal plaque buried in rubble at farthest left (“THIS” = 550).
