Quick News September 22, 2014 Superintendent’s Message John P. Kronour, Ph.D. Today is the halfway point of the first quarter. It seems timely to remind parents that Tipp City Exempted Village Schools has a wonderful tool to help parents/guardians stay up-to-date on their children’s academic performance. The Parent Internet Viewer (PIV) provides 24-hour access to attendance, assignments and grades for students in grades 4 to 12. By using a student’s ID number and password assigned by the district, parents are able to view grades and monitor progress. PIV also allows parents to receive daily reports via email at a specified time or email alerts each time a grade falls below a certain point. Go to the district’s homepage and click on “Grades” in the right hand corner to access and set up PIV. Tippecanoe High School Senior Crowned 2014 Mum Queen Congratulations to THS senior Taylor Merrick for being selected as this year’s Mum Queen. Contestants are judged on personality, poise, talent, appearance, and scholastics. Taylor will participate in the Mum Festival Parade and be present during Mum Festival weekend. She will also represent the Mum Festival at other Ohio festivals and charity events during the year of reign. THS Senior Mara Mason was named 1 st runner-up. Thank You Tipp City Area Community Foundations Tipp City Area Community Foundations awarded Tipp City Exempted Village Schools two educational grants. The first one captures the imaginations of 5 th grade students on a visit to Victoria Theatre. “The Lightening Thief” based on Rick Riordan’s book series, is this year’s performance. The second one brings “The Rock Man” Mike Manning, a retired geology and earth science teacher, to 3 rd grade students. He will share his enthusiasm for rocks through a series of hands-on activities that include pantomime.
