Banner Self-Service
Banner Self-Service allows External Examiners to complete and submittheir Annual Report. The system is capable of allowing an External Examiner to submit more than one report for the same Academic Year.
External Examiners are able to view and print submitted reports.
The ‘Personal Information’ module is the area from which the ‘Complete On-line Survey Report’ is accessed. The following menu options are available:

Banner Self-Service
In order to complete the on-line Annual Report an External Examiner willlogin to Banner Self-Service to access the Main Menu screen with the‘Personal Information’ option listed. After clicking on ‘Personal Information’and selecting ‘Complete On-line Report’ the External Examiners AnnualReport Form will be available.

Overview of the On-line Report
The current on-line External Examiner’s Annual Report is named EE01.
A copy procedure is designed to rename the report once submitted. The report will be renamed by appending an underscore character, followed by the term code relating to the examination year, followed by another underscore and a sequence number that is unique within the term code for each External Examiner.
The External Examiner’s Annual Report code is as follows:
EE01_YYYY00_XXX
The report code therefore controls the type of report where;
• EE01 is the code for the External Examiner’s Annual Report. • YYYY00 is used to identify the term code relating to the examination academic year e.g. 200600• XXX is the sequence number of the report e.g. 001, 002,

Overview of the On-line Report
The term code is obtained from the response of the user to question 2 of the report. If there is no response, then the copy procedure derives a default term code based upon the current date. The copy procedure takes the month and year of the current date and will derive a term code as follows –
For months from June to December inclusive, the leading 4 digits of the term code will equal the year minus 1. For months from January to May inclusive, the leading 4 digits of the term code will equal the year minus 2. The default term code for a survey that was completed in June 2005 will be 200400. The default term code for a survey completed in May 2006 will also be 200400.
It is anticipated that this functionality will rarely be needed as it is expected that most if not all respondents will provide a response to question 2.

Overview of the On-line Report
Once an External Examiner clicks on the ‘Survey Complete’ button at the end of the External Examiner’s Annual Report in Banner Self-Service, the procedure renames the External Examiner’s Annual Report.
This renaming of the report response records enables the user to enter and submit the survey an unlimited number of times. Without the functionality that is provided by the copy procedure, the External Examiner would be able to input the External Examiner’s Annual Report only once.

Once an External Examiner has submitted a report to the University they are not able to amend a response. You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to submit the report. This is displayed once ‘Survey Complete’ button is selected.
