The Questions of the Grave- Belief in the Day of Judgment

• We have three questions of the grave. We are in part two which is about our religion.

• We call the Yawm Aakhir, the Last Day. The Jannah and Hell Fire have no days with an eternal life. There is no counting of the days.

- We need to believe that this life will finish. We will meet Allah in that Last Day. We will go through a journey that may be longer than our entire lives. Even with the people of Nuh that lived thousands of years, the akhirah started from the moment of death is even longer than all of their lives.

- We will see our land is like shrinking. - This is not to make us depressed but to make us aware. My life is not a joke

or play. - Allah created life and death to test us. - The day of judgment has signs. The scholars say that most of the minor signs

are completed. And when the major signs come, they will come like beads in a necklace. When one falls, the rest will follow.

- The splitting of the moon (54:1) happened in the time of the Prophet. The Prophet said that he and the sa’ah (the hour) are close.

The Questions of the Grave

Belief in Day of Judgment

1) General Belief- Sign of death, then people will go to Jannah or An-Nar. (Al-Waaqia ayah 49)

2) Detailed belief- knowing the different stations. We need to know about the Day of Judgment so we can take it seriously. If we have an exam in school, we would take it seriously. How about our real exam?

- There are ten major signs that have not happened yet: Mahdi, I’sa, Ad-Dajjal, Yajooj wa Majooj, three earthquakes (west, east, and Jazeera arab like a sink), Ad-Dukhan (smoke will come and push people to the place of the gathering), The sun will rise from the West (no repentance after), Ad-Daaba (animals) will appear- you don’t know the front or the end and it will speak and tell the people of the day of judgment, then lastly,there is a great fire will come and drive the people to the land of gathering. We don’t know which one is first but the last one is the fire.

A person is living in this life eating, drinking, driving, shopping, cleaning, watching, doing whatever you are doing. But then there is a time Allah decreed a guest will come.

Death is actually a creation. The angel of death was assigned by Allah to take a soul of the slave. Allah revealed to him the list on Layatul Qadr, who will die this year. Just imagine, in one minute around the middle, there are people who have their soul taken. No one will be missing form the list. Only a dying person will see the angel of death. He will sit on his head and speak to the soul. He will say “Okhrujee, come out” If that soul is a restful soul, in their life was obedient. At the moment of death, it will be revealed to every one of us how we were in this life. When an obedient soul comes out, (An-Naaziaat)

Stage 1

A wretched soul will have to be asked to come out and he will say he doesn’t want to come out. He will argue. Therefore, he will be pulled out. Like a wet wool with a feeling of drowning. May Allah make us really repent and go to Allah. Allah doesn’t want to torture you or punish you, if you believe in Him, obey Him, and be thankful to Him.

No one can really tell you where the soul is. We don’t need to know where it is, but in the moment of death there will be a separation between body and soul. The Angel will take your soul and give it to the other angels. If we were a disbeliever or hypocrite, may Allah protect us, the angels will be scary. If the soul was a believer, then it will be angels of mercy, smiling and rejoicing. The soul is really truthful and it’s on the straight path.

The Wisdom in Sending the Books

The Questions of the Grave

When we are truthful, we say we believe in Allah and keep steadfast. In this time, when you feel like you will really leave your dunya, leaving my family, my house, etc. But Allah will support you by sending many angels coming in succession and giving glad tidings to you. They will say, don’t be afraid. Don’t be sad about what you left behind. A believers face will be smiling.

This will depend on how you live your life. Are you quick in obeying Allah, or you are delaying obeying Allah?

Clothes, the car, etc. Don’t have any value. The only thing you need is hasanaat.

Surah Az-Zumar: 53: Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

54. "And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islamic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islam), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped.

55. "And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord (i.e. this Qur'an, do what it orders you to do and keep away from what it forbids), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!"

Those that did not worship Allah, will regret. They will regret that they didn’t take it seriously. They will say, I wish I can come back to my life, I will be among the muhsineen.

If it is a good soul, the angels will shroud from Paradise. The angels will say, what is this nice smell. It is a good soul. This is the value of you. The body will go into the ground, but our value is in this life. Are we purifying our soul or corrupting our soul? If it is a bad soul, the will shroud with a shroud from Hell-Fire. The angels will say, what is this bad smell, the first heaven will not open for them.

If it’s a bad person, the book of records will be in Sijeen- in a bad place. For good souls, the book of records will be put in a good place.

All the possessions of the people, the clothes, etc. will be distributed. If it’s a bad soul, they will ask where they will be taken. A good soul will say hurry me there, I want to go there.

We will go into the stomach of the earth. If it a good person, the grave will be big and wide.

The Special Status of the Quran

Yawm Al-Hisaab- Imagine when Allah made the sign. People will die, people are still alive and then will die. Until the Day of Judgment.. Then

Allah will call Israfeel. He is an obedient angel, he is looking at the throne of Allah waiting for the order. From this sound of the trumpet, people will die. These would be the most wicked people of the land. Everyone will die except whoever Allah wills. Even Israfeel will die after blowing the trumpet. Allah will say, “I am the King, where is those Jabbaroon?” Where are those idols that people used to worship? The earth will eat the bodies of the people except for the Prophets and the righteous. What will be left is the tailbone, which we will grow from. Allah will bring the body again without a soul. Then Allah will give life to Israfeel and he blow on the trumpet the second time and the souls will come back to their own body.

That is why Reincarnation is a wrong theory because we will come back as the same person.

For a wicked person, the grave will squeeze him until his bones will be squashed. His soul will be thrown in and his grave will be dark because in his life, he did not give it light. Munkar and Nakir, two angels will come and ask, Who is your Lord, What is your deen, who is your Prophet? They will say I don’t know. The hypocrite will say, I heard them say so-and-so, and I said the same. Then a wicked person will come. They will say, who are you? The person will respond, I am your evil deeds, I will accompany you until the day of judgement.

For a believer, the grave will squeeze like a hug. When they are asked the questions, they will answer firmly and surely. Allah keep the believer firm. Why did Allah keep them firm and not the other? Because of what they used to do in their life. Then, to the disbeliever they will open a gate to Jannah, and say this will be your place if you had repented. Then they will show them their place in Hell Fire. With the believer, they will show them Hell-Fire, would be your place if you did not believe. Then he will be shown his place in Jannah, and he will want the day of judgment to come so he can go there. He will ask Allah that he can go and tell his family that he is fine, but Allah will not allow him.

Allah will gather everyone. But no one will want to see each other, even though you haven’t seen each other for a long time. We will be overwhelmed. We just

want to see what Allah will decide for me. In this life, we are surrounded with people, but don’t let anyone change your decision in your life to obey Allah. No one will be with anyone else on the Day of Judgment. Even the beasts will be gather, because Allah will put them to justice.

The throwing of the books. Everyone will receive their book that they had in their life. Some faces will be dark and some faces will be bright. We want to take our provision in this life- and that provision is thikr of Allah. People will

be in a state of difficulty before the judgment. But some people will be shaded from Allah. The people will go to Adam and ask him to ask Allah to start the day of judgment. He will say, he cannot speak to Allah because Allah is angry with anger He has never been and will never be again. Adam will be worried about himself eating from the tree. They will go to Ibrahim to ask. Ibrahim will say he cannot, he lied three lies. They will go to Musa. Musa will say he cannot, he killed someone. They will go to Isa, Isa will say he cannot, go to Muhammad (SallAllah alayhi wa salam). Everyone will go to Muhammad, even the disbelievers

The Prophet will go to Allah, under His throne, in a place no one will be allowed to go and will invoke Him and praise Him. Allah will inspire to Him praise. Until Allah will say, Oh Muhammad, lift your head. And the Prophet (SallAllah alayhi wa salam) will say Ummati, Umaati. Allah will say pick 70,000 from your Ummah to enter into Jannah without reckoning.

The earth will shine with the Noor of Allah. Allah will come on the Day of Judgment in a way that suits His Majesty. Everyone will see the truth. Our eyes will be like an Iron. The believers will know already. The disbelievers will be in awe and will feel regret.

The book has everything written in it. Be conscious of how we feel and what we do and take our life more seriously. Allah brings all the signs to you.

The Prophets will not enter Paradise until everyone from their ummah enters because they are responsible over them.

Nuh, Allah will ask him for a witness. Nuh will say, yes, the ummah of Muhammad because they read the Quran.

Then there will be invidiaul accounting. Some people will have a difficult accounting, some people will just display, will be easy. The one who is not accounting himself, their accounting will be difficult.

The scale- After the ones who are accounting, they will be taken to the scale. The heaviest on the scale is La ilaha il Allah. The hadith of the card. Another

thing that is very heavy in the scale is good manners. SubhanAllah wa bi hamdi, Subhan Allah al-azheem is very heavy in the scale. The other side, shirk and nifaaq.

Then, everyone will be thirsy and want to drink. There will be the hawd. Only the ones who follow the Prophet will drink.

When they see what they worship, they will follow what they worship into the Hell- Fire. The sun, the moon, their idols, etc. All except the yahood, an-nasaara because they are ahlul bidah. Then, they will enter the Hell-Fire.

Then what is left is the beleivers and the hypocrites. Allah will come in a different form and say, why are you waiting? They will say, all their gods came to take them and we are

Everyone will be given a light, even the hypocrites. The hypocrites will go forward and the light will be turned off. They will look at the others and

say, can you give us some light. They will say, we cannot, there is a place before, you can get a light there. When the go back- the wall will be there. They will say, why are we separated? Surah Al-Hadeed (13-14)- the hypocrites keep delaying. They are no ransom for them. Then what is left is the believers.

This is the siraat- thinner than a hair, sharper than a sword. And it is dark. How will we cross? It depends on how you are in this life, your deeds, your

faith. Some will go like a blink of an eye, some will be like a lightening, some will be like a horse, some will walk, some will crawl. So we will go according to our deeds, that’s why we should hurry to obey Allah. Some people will be scratched with hooks, some people

Qantarah- The bridge of settling the score between people. If anyone you backbite, give you hasanat. Take your rights from people. The one who is

bankrupt is the one who is did a lot but transgressed people’s right. If other people ate your rights, it is better to pardon them in order not to be stopped there at the Qantarah. Then they will be pure. Maybe both parties will go to Paradise, but they need to be purified. Then Allah will take care of removing Al-ghaniy.

Now, they will be waiting in front of the door of Paradise. Then the Prophet Muhammad will knock, and the angel will say I have been commanded not to open Paradise until you came. Az-Zumar (71) When people go to Jannah, they will say Peace be upon you. You reached to your home with peace. You are saved from any disturbance. There is no sorry, no worry, no

grief. The people of paradise will say Allah fulfilled His promise to us.

Then a ram will come in the middle. They will say do you recognize this? This is death. Then it will slaughtered. The people of Hell Fire will be so sad. And the people of Paradise will be so

happy. (Az-Zumar 75): You will see the angels surrounding the throne of Allah. Now everything is in Truth. Even the people of Hell Fire will say Alhamdulillah because they see the

justice.
