Q3:What do you like about Thrillers?

Looking at the results of this question, the pie chart clearly illustrates that the most popular feature about thrillers are the Storyline and the least most popular was the option of Other. From gathering this information we aimed to focus our piece more on our Story as this is what people are most engaged by, also, for a thriller to be a successful it has to run through a viable Storyline that makes sense and also appeals to the audience. We laid out several options to choose from for the respondents, however, the option of Other was put there to cater for people who didn’t want to pick from the selections readily available, we then looked at our results and saw that no participant picked that option, as a result we only focused on the preferences that were actually picked as this is what attracted attention amongst people. Finally, we chose to focus mostly on the Storyline and the thrillers Action, we then considered our thrillers Soundtrack and Special FX, these were the main aspects that we considered for our piece and was chosen as these are what people responded to in the questionnaire, this particular question helped us get a grasp on what people like about thrillers, we would then try to include as many of these features as possible to ensure our thriller will be successful in most aspects.

Q4:What do you dislike about Thrillers?

The pie chart of this question indicates that the least most popular feature about thrillers are Soundtrack. As a result we looked at question 3 to see if the results had any contrast or similarities and we had noticed the correlation between the two pie graphs regarding Soundtrack, it was the least most popular feature on both charts , therefore, altogether we decided to spend minimal time focusing on the Soundtrack of our piece however, because it was the least popular, we aim to try and make our soundtrack simple in order to appeal to audiences. We also found that people disliked Action the least, therefore we decided to focus more time on the Action of our piece to ensure our thriller will prosper. However, Special FX also had been the least popular after Soundtrack , we then decided to not include any Special FX as we felt it would ruin the realism of our piece, the piece would be to artificial. Overall, this question helped us gather extensive information about what people dislike about thrillers, ultimately helping us to improve our piece in certain aspects as well as informing us about what not to include in our piece.

Q5:What Thriller sub genre do you prefer?

From looking at the pie chart , our group could see that the most popular sub genre for a thriller is in fact action, based on these results we decided to make our thriller piece an Action as this genre is more likely to engage with more viewers, we also made our storyline with an action theme behind it to attract a wider range of audiences. In contrast the least most popular sub genre was Other, this option ranges from different genres that are alternative to the main sub genres, As an outcome we decided to only consider the main sub genres rather than the ones that are unknown to viewers. In between the least and most popular option, our group also considered the other sub genres as they received results form participants indicating that there is some form of interest amongst them. Altogether, this question helped us pick the right sub genre which is essential as we picked the most interesting sub genre that effectively caters to a large variety of people and this is illustrated through the results we collected on this specific question.

Q6:What Time Period do you prefer the film to be set in?

Looking at the results of this question, the most popular option of time period is the 2000s. This time period is set in the last 15 years, this links to when people are growing up during these years which could be the reason why they prefer modern films in comparison to old films. This essentially means we set our own thriller piece in modern day as other time periods are less general. We considered this time period as the main one. We also considered the time periods of the 30s, the future and also the 90s as these were also chosen amongst respondents who did the questionnaire. The options that weren’t picked, initially weren’t considered in our thriller piece. Altogether, this question helped our group pick the perfect time period which significantly appeals to viewers more than its expected to.
