This shows the proportion of males and females that completed our questionnaire. From this information we understand that majority of our target audience will be male. Therefore while we will still add conventions which will attract both genders we will primarily focus on meeting the expectations of our male audience.

As shown from these results, our main focus is going to be those between the ages 14-21. This age group consists of young adults and teenagers, therefore we look to use conventions that would attract this audience to our music video. Knowing this also makes us aware of what will be appropriate enough to use for this music video.

As shown from these results, our audiences do expect there to be a story with our music video. This means that we should attempt to have a clear storyline that can in some way link to the lyrics of our song, therefore having the audience invested in our overall product.

As shown from these results, majority of our audience prefer music videos with romance. This makes it clear to us that we should incorporate some romantic elements within our song. As ‘regret’ is the second most popular and not that far off from ‘romance’ we plan on using elements within our video that can also link to that particular theme therefore, satisfying most of our audience.

As shown from these results, our audiences prefer music videos with a story behind them. This supports what we learnt from question3 in that we should attempt to have a clear storyline that can in some way link to the lyrics of our song, therefore having the audience invested in our overall product.

As shown from these results, a large percentage of our audience prefer music videos to be set at school or at a house. Therefore, we will aim to make these our two primary location for filming scenes due to their popularity. The park/field location will also be considered due to the large percentage it received compared to other locations. The fact that this was an open question meant that the answers would vary a lot so we will not pay attention to those locations that received a very small minority of votes.

As shown from these results, our audiences have shown great interest in Miles Kane who is our chosen artist. Therefore, we will attempt to retain certain conventions about his songs like his style and message but, we will also consider having a band image similar to bands like Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes.

30% As shown from these results, our audiences were very divided between Miles Kane, Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes. Therefore, as said for question 7, although we will still retain a lot of similar conventions used by Miles Kane, we will try to make our band be about 3 equals rather than having one person being presented as the main star.

As shown from these results, the majority of our audience are more interested in seeing males featured primarily in a music video rather than females. As there is still a percentage of those who wish to see females in the video we will still feature them but only as secondary characters.
