FRONT COVER

Page 3: Question 7

• In my preliminary task I didn’t have a very good understanding of how InDesign or Photoshop worked. I also hadn’t done any research in to what existing magazines looked like. This is show as my first magazine cover was quite dull and also some of the text wasn’t lined up.

• In my new front cover a dramatic difference can be seen. This is because it is a lot more busy and not as dull. Also all the text lines up. I also had gained experience on InDesign and Photoshop which allowed the photo to look more professional. I also did some research into existing front covers from a music magazine which helped me develop mine and make it more professional looking.

CONTENTS PAGE In my preliminary task of the school magazine my contents page was very plain. This was mainly because I used a white background and there wasn’t much text. Also, I only had one picture which didn’t make the page look busy and attract readers. My new music magazine contents page has changed dramatically as, although there is still a white background there are lots of coloured boxes and different coloured writing which helps attract the reader. I also used more images to help fill the page up and make it a lot busier. When making my new music magazine contents page, I used columns to make sure that my page was evenly split and to make sure that every thing was inline which gave it a more professional look.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

Page 7: Question 7

• In my preliminary task of my school magazine I didn’t make a double page spread. This meant that it was the first time of me making one when making my music magazine. However, I did some research to what is normally included in double page spreads. I found this task fairly easy as it was mostly text, but I had to fill in gaps and make it look like a real music magazine. One way I did this was wrapping text to go around the circle in the middle of the page.
