These 20 individuals were people who we thought would represent our target audience. These questions also helped us to see what our target audience would want to see and who they would be. From the graph we can see that when asking about what gender the audience would want to see be the main character it was overruled by females. Therefore we chose to have a female character as the main character because a larger proportion of our target audience wanted it to be. We also noticed from our primary research that when asking the individuals if they regularly watched horrors nearly 17 people answered yes. Noticing that 9/10 males regularly watched horror films. What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

From looking at the graph opposite we can see that 10 males and ten females we chosen to partake in the questionnaire.

Therefore we realised that we had to target males when making media product.

Once we finished gathering our data we decided to make another survey using ‘survey monkey to ask our audience further questions. A question we asked was for them to choose a title. As shown, 50% chose both ‘Mirage’ & ‘Phantasm’. Because of this we decided to go with ‘Mirage’ because it was a much simpler word to pronounce and to understand but our target audience (demographic E).

Also from the graph we can see that having a relatable character in the trailer was extremely important the target audience. This is why we chose to subvert to the stereotypical female looking character in our media product and chose a realist normal British female teenager. It was also important to the audience that the female characters friends are shown in the trailer therefore we chose to go about this also having short scenes shown of our main characters friends.
