Q1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge

conventions of real media products?

This is the masthead, which is found in all magazines. This masthead is bold, and sticks out from the main image. It also uses the school colours for the word ‘FCHS.’ The masthead is also found at the top of the page which is conventional for a front cover

My cover lines are found in the centre of the page, which intrigues people to read the magazine. I feel the cover lines can be a bit more exciting instead of just ‘exam success’

The main image represents the common school child. It is conventional to a normal magazine as it is larger than all the other images on the page, and also sticks out the viewers.

The main cover line is found at the bottom of my front cover. It shows the picture, which illustrates what the main cover line is about. Personally, I think this is too small to be a main cover line so I will need to size it up for the main task. The main cover line isn’t in a conventional place to be as it is at the bottom, where usually it is at the top of the page.

This is the magazines logo, which will be displayed on all pages under the masthead on all pages where in this case, the masthead is Contents

The magazine name is usually found in the top corner of the contents page. This is conventional as it is smaller than it is on the front cover.

This contents page isn’t conventional to other contents pages produced as the boxes with the page numbers are in odd places. I feel this is suitable for the school as it shows how different the school is, making the audience more intrigued in what’s in the magazine, also making the read on.
