librarians for book recommendations. In Term 1, the mass borrowing sessions will be conducted from

Tuesday, 19 February to Wednesday, 20 February.

7. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the following so that your child/ward

will be able to borrow the books.

Ensure your child/ward brings his/her school EZ-Link card / library card and a bag to store the

books borrowed from 19 February to 20 February 2019.

Pay the fines (if any) in your child’s/ward’s library account.

Return all books in your child’s/ward’s account before the mass borrowing activity.

If your child/ward has lost his/her library card, please report the loss at any public library and

make a new library card. (Note: A fee will apply for a new library card).

8. Kindly ensure that the NLB books borrowed in the school from 19 February to 20 February

2019 are returned to any public library by the due date that is indicated on the loan receipt. This is a

teachable moment parents/guardians can tap on to share with your child/ward the importance of being a

'Responsible Individual’.

P4 Camp 2019

9. In line with the school vision of developing ‘A Child. An Explorer. A Friend.’, the school is

organising its annual camp for all P4 students. The camp is compulsory for all P4 students and serves

as a character-building platform that teaches critical thinking, fosters authentic relationships with peers

and teachers, and promotes community and healthy living. Camp is a place where students not only

learn how to be active participants by asking questions, seeking help and trying new things, but is also

an avenue for students to learn to be more independent and to stretch their social, emotional, physical,

and cognitive abilities in a setting outside their comfort zone.

10. The theme for the camp is ‘Conquering My Mountain’ and the objectives are as follows:

Students will learn to manage themselves and cultivate the value of self-discipline

Students will develop social awareness and form meaningful relationships with others

Students will understand the importance of caring for the environment

11. The school will be working together with MOE Outdoor Adventure Educators (OAEs) to run

the camp activities, which will be held at the MOE Dairy Farm Adventure Centre. The OAEs are

proficient in outdoor skills and trained in Wilderness First Aid. Our teachers will also be with the

students at the camp.

12. We look forward to an enriching camping experience for the P4 students.

Welcome Party 2019It was a night where the School Leaders and the current batch ofParent Volunteers welcomed new parents to QtPS!

This Welcome Party was organised by QtPSG and took place on11th January. It also provided parents new to the school with anopportunity to engage with the School Leaders and network withparents who already have their children here at QtPS.

A parent’s involvement in his/her child’s school life showcases aform of deep concern for the child, and encourages a positiveattitude towards learning. Active involvement by parents alsomotivates children towards better personal development, betterattendance and greater participation in school. Parents involvedin the QtPSG generally have a more holistic view of their child’seducation and are better able to support their child at school. Anadded perk is that they are also able to make friends with theother parents as well!

‘Back to School’ 2019 by Fathers@QtPSG

‘Back To School’ is a regular event organised byFathers@QtPSG on the first day of the school year atQtPS. Parents at QtPS make a commitment to send theirchild to school so as to support them on their educationaljourney. Research has shown that beyond the family, afather’s interest and involvement in his child’s academicjourney can do wonders. Whether the child is starting orreturning to school, the presence of a father is alwaysspecial and reassuring.
