• Addresses the components of the challenge• Innovation and uniqueness• Functionality and marketability• Viability• Benefit to Queenslanders

• Must use, reuse or repurpose at least one science open data set on the Queensland Government Open Data Portal.

3. Uncovering Queensland’s untold stories • QSA and SLQ datasets include a vast range of Queensland’s

historical data from convict records to immigration data to digitised photographs maps and posters. These records can reveal new and untold stories of and about Queensland and Queenslanders helping us to understand where we came from – how we got here and where we are going.

• We challenge you to look into Queensland’s historical data and to help us uncover those stories.

4. How can you help your community Get Ready for times of emergency and disaster?

• Help the Qld Government improve the quantity, quality and accuracy of data available to Qld Government agencies in emergency or disaster response or recovery situations.

• Let people know about hazards in their area, those that could be affected and the services that can help.

To raise awareness of public safety, we’d like govhackers to combine the datasets and web services to show how:

• hazards, • risks, • services • and population factors,

vary across the state.

Help generate informed conversations about an assurance of public safety.

The app or website should also:• allow the community to validate and add to the critically

important emergency and disaster response data held by the state and local government.
