Visa types for business and investor migrantsBusiness Talent (Permanent) (subclass 132) visa

If you have a strong background in owning and managing a business in your home country, you may consider applying for the Business Talent (Permanent) (subclass 132) visa and obtain permanent residency from the start of your visa.

Business Innovation (Provisional) visa (subclass 188A)*

If you would prefer to start your investment journey in Queensland with a smaller level of investment in a new or existing business, the Business Innovation visa may be a suitable option.

Business Investor (Provisional) visa (subclass 188B)*

If you prefer the security of investing in state government bonds, the Business Investor visa may best suit your needs.

Significant Investor (Provisional) visa (subclass 188C)*

This visa subclass requires a minimum investment of AUD$5 million into managed funds and allows an applicant without a history in business to make an investment. This visa has lower eligibility requirements than other visa subclasses in return for higher investment. There is no points test, minimum English language requirement or upper age limit.

Entrepreneur (Provisional) visa (subclass 188E)*

For entrepreneurs who want to develop or commercialise their innovative ideas and who have a funding agreement with a specified third party.

Investment Retirement (subclass 405) visa

Queensland’s idyllic lifestyle and many diverse landscapes to explore make it an attractive choice for business retirees aged 55 years or older. By making a designated investment in Queensland Treasury Corporation bonds for four years, you could be eligible for Queensland State nomination.

*The 188 subclass are provisional visas. They are a pathway to permanent residency (subclass 888)

Next stepsStep 1: Review your eligibility criteria, visa conditions and document checklist on the DIBP website www.border.gov.au and the BSMQ website www.migration.qld.gov.au. Ensure you meet both DIBP criteria and BSMQ criteria and have all your documentation prepared before you apply.

Please note: we no longer accept attachments sent to us by email or hard copies sent via post.

Step 4: When you have received your invitation:
