Note to all families

Note to all families

This email was sent to families this week:

I am writing to update you in relation to the various announcements that have been made by the government in the

last few weeks about schools reopening.

Whilst the government has indicated that it would like secondary schools to begin a targeted reopening to students in

Year 10 and Year 12 from June 15th, there is different guidance pertaining to special schools that makes it clear that

we should not be aiming to bring back any students because of their year group. School will not be reopening on

15th June for children in these year groups. We will be working hard to try to identify safe ways in which we can in-

crease the number of our most vulnerable children in school and will be carrying out lengthy risk assessment work in

the next couple of weeks relating to this. Whilst this could mean that there are more students in school from 22nd

June, it is unlikely that there will be any return to school this side of the summer holidays for the majority of students.

Any students returning will, where at all possible, need to learn, understand and apply the safety procedures that we

are putting in place to manage the risks involved.

We will be working with students carers and families to support their transition through the end of this academic year

and what this looks like will depend on the age and stage of individual students.

I hope this clarifies our current position and will continue to keep you updated.

Half Term Fun

Peter in Post-16 has been very busy during half term. He has been camping in the garden, making a Jeep body shell

for his Radio Flyer, helping to make concrete and flat pack work, which he did without help and only got one piece

wrong in three book shelves!

Mr Huckfield.

11C

11C have had a busy few weeks. In our last Team meeting we set ourselves a challenge to take photos of the things

we see out on our walks or in our gardens. As you can see we have all had a great time out and about spotting some

of the wonderful nature in the local areas we live in.

This week on Teams 11C learnt to sing and sign to ‘Can you feel the love tonight’ from the Lion King. It was great to

see you all and we will see you all again next week.

Mental Health Awareness week continued….

On the Friday of Mental Health Awareness week, pupils thought about all the kind work our Key Workers have been

doing.

Esme and her family had left toiletries out for Carers at her mums work to take as a way of saying thank you and

had also put out a special box for the postman.

Dan and Samuel have been colouring pictures for our keyworkers and Zac and Quinn delivered biscuits down to the

local ambulance service to show how much we appreciate them.

The class have been busy planting the sunflower seeds we sent them (here are Gerard's and Dan’s). They have

enjoyed being in their gardens and spending time with their families.

Esme celebrated her 12th Birthday in lockdown this week and we know she had a lovely day with her family

enjoying the sunshine.

Keep up all your hard work 7B you continue to make us very proud.
