ADVENT

“We GATHER as the church family, we GROW in faith, and we GO forth with the Grace of God, to share in a life of love and service.”

Check out the new ADVENT button on our parish app! These daily reflections along with the Mass readings in the READINGS button are a great way to prepare our lives for the coming of Our Lord. In order to see the Advent button, you may need to “refresh” the app. Open the app on your phone, Tap the thre lines in the upper left corner, tap change parish and tap Queen of the Universe. Your background will change from Mary to the purple Advent background and you will have the new Advent information.

Visit Formed today to explore the Featured Advent Programs!

Advent Series: “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christ-mas,” or, at least that’s the assumption based on that famil-iar holiday song. But what does that look like at your house? Most of us anticipate the great sales at the mall on the day after Thanksgiving, string lights on the outside of our house, and decorating the inside of our homes. But how exactly are we preparing our hearts for the greatest gift we’ve ever been given? Through an exploration of the mys-tery of the Incarnation, the Virgin Birth, and the events sur-rounding the arrival of Jesus, this Advent study offers an opportunity to experience the joy of the true meaning of Christmas.

STEWARDSHIP

“Therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

MATTHEW 3:10 Do you bear good fruit for Christ? Or, do you spend your time, talent and treasure constantly acquiring more toys, clutter and junk. Our time, our talent and our treasure are gifts that God has given us. What we do with them is our gift back to God. What gifts are you planning to give to the Lord during this upcoming Christmas season?

Movie Highlight: The most important event in the evangelization of the New World occurred in December, 1531. Over the course of four days, the Vir-gin Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe,

appeared to an indigenous convert named Juan Diego. As a result of this encounter, and the image miraculously im-printed on Juan Diego s tilma (cloak), nine million Native Americans embraced the Catholic faith, and the Americas began its transformation into the Catholic hemisphere. Our Lady of Guadalupe s message of love had replaced the insti-tutionalized violence of the Aztec culture and built a bridge between two worlds.

Guadalupe: The Miracle and the Message traces the history of this transformative event from the 16th century to the present. Featuring interviews with leading theologians, his-torians and experts on the scientific inquiries into the mi-raculous image this gripping film explores both the inexpli-cable mysteries behind the image, and the continued rele-vance of the Guadalupe apparition to the modern world.

CROSS-TRAIN YOUR FAITH FAITH FORMATION

Welcome a “Special Guest” to Your Home Please consider having the Blessed Mother as a guest in your home. The presence of Mary in your home adds so much to your daily life. To schedule a date when your family will be able to welcome Our Lady into your home, call Dolores at 215-486-5192.

Please join us for Monday Night Gospel Reflection. This group meets every Monday night from 7 to 8pm in the Parish Center, to pray to-gether, reflect on the Gospel reading

for the upcoming Sunday liturgy, and discuss how it speaks to them in their daily lives. This is a nice way to keep the Gospel message in your heart all through the week.

Cross Train Your Faith Bishop Robert Barron did a great job last week of making clear for us as to “Who is an atheist?” and “What is God.” in Session One and “The Paths to God” in Session Two.

As we prepare for the coming of the Christ Child on Christmas he has given us something to think about and ponder. There really is a God and we know who He is.

Next Wednesday Bishop Barron delves in the “The Divine Attributes” and “Providence and the Problem of Evil” to further clear up “The Mystery of God” for us.

We meet in the Parish Center on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 AM and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM.

“Cross Train Your Faith” is part of the Adult Faith Forma-tion Program here at the Queen to provide programs of study and present information of Catholic learning for the adults of Our Parish Family. All adults are invited to join us. There is no charge to participate, except if you want to purchase special study material available. Registration is not required – just join us. If you have suggestions for future programs please let us know by contacting BobbyAllen in the Parish Center at 215-945-0215 or Andy Pastorek at 215-943-2469 of by e-mail at [email protected].
