FROM THE PASTOR
PARISH NEWS
LORD HEAR I AM SEND ME.
My dear family of Queen of Peace, with total submission to the will of God I come to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ as your seventh shepherd and servant. I have no power of my own; I depend totally on the Holy Spirit of God for this new assignment entrusted to me by God.
When I came over to this loving family of Queen of Peace in January this year, on the Solemnity of Epiphany to help out while our beloved pastor Fr. Daniel Scheidt was going for a jaw surgery, neither you nor I ever knew that God had other plans in stock for us.
When I was informed of my new assignment, I heard myself asking: how can this be since I am very new in United States? Two things however encouraged me to say yes to God. 1) He has always promised to be with those He sends out 2) The love I received from all of you the few months I spent with you, espe-cially from the school children urged me on.
I come to you with faith, hope and love and together we shall water the good seeds my predecessors have labored to sow, trusting that God will give us a bountiful harvest at the end and give us a faith community where everyone see each other as a member of one family united in faith, hope and love.
I came across this and I wish to share it with you for your reflection: Christ said: “The harvest is great, but the laborers are few…” Hence what we need is: More to approve, fewer to disapprove. More doers, fewer talkers. More to say: ‘It can be done” fewer to say: ‘It can’t be done’. More to inspire others with confidence, fewer to throw cold water on everything. More to take one step in the right di-rection. More to get into the thick of things. More to do something about it, fewer to sit on the sidelines finding fault. More to point out what is right, fewer to keep harping on what is wrong. More to light a candle, fewer to curse the darkness.
I can see in each of you a new enthusiasm and readiness to volunteer even more for the good of our parish family. “The harvest is indeed great but the laborers are few…” Lord here I am send me; what about you, why can’t you become one of God’s laborers in this Parish.
GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD FOR HE IS GOOD FOR HIS LOVE
ENDURES FOREVER. - Fr. John Eze

KEEPING UP WITH OUR LADY’S GARDEN
The rains and storms have really produced the weeds in all the gardens. Gardeners who have vegetable plots please tend to your garden at a minimum of once a week to keep out the fast-growing weeds and to harvest if needed--zucchini, lettuce, peppers, onions, etc. If you cannot make it to the garden or are on vacation, please ask someone to tend the garden for you. And, the peren-nial flower gardens need to be weeded on an ongoing basis. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all gardeners for the hard work you have put into the gar-den. Our Lady is watching!
