The Queen Elisabeth Musical Voyage has been designed to unite a love of music with the art of discovery. This takes place in the form of a cruise on a small comfortably sized passenger ship (with about 300 passengers). Its aim is to provide a group of informed music lovers with the opportunity to explore the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel from the inside, together with rich and emotive musical experiences, in line with a superb spirit of companionship. For a whole week, several masters in residence, guest soloists, young soloists in residence at the Music Chapel and one of the best chamber orchestras in the world combine their talents to deliver to an enthusiastic audience, meetings, rehearsals, master classes and two daily concerts - one on board, the other on land, always at an exceptional location. The ‘Silver Wind’, one of today’s finest cruising ships, is an excellent foil to the artistic content of the voyage. This elegant and spacious yacht offers its 200 music loving passengers the best of comfort, and is indeed, a veritable art of living.

Founded in 1939, the primary mission of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel was to provide meaningful support to young talents by means of a Excellence musical center at the highest artistic and technical level. This mission was consolidated in 2004 by a new structure, more open and more flexible, and by increased personalisation of the teaching programmes. Instruction at the College today is centred around the six masters in residence (Augustin Dumay, Miguel Da Silva, José van Dam, Gary Hofman, Maria Joao Pires et le Quatuor Artemis) and a team of enthusiastic and competent teachers, permanent or invited, as well as around sixty young talents coming from all over the world. The special chemistry of Pasteels Central Tourisme - Antares, results from the merger of three of the most prestigious travel agencies in Brussels: ‘Central Tourisme’, the tailor-made and à la carte travel specialist, ‘Croisières Pasteels’, the only travel agent exclusively dedicated to cruising, and ‘Antarès’, a company recognised for its competence and creativity in the domain of special voyages. The union of these three exceptional travel companies has given birth to a thoroughly committed agency in which sophistication, listening, competence, advice, and flexibility are by-words for a people-centred approach. The added value is apparent at all levels, from simple train or plane ticketing to the search for a Palace or charming hotel, or from the reservation of a seaside break or dream cruise to the organisation of a romantic escape or a full-scale family voyage which will affect their lives forever.

The concept developed by Silversea Cruises bears witness to the very finest European know-how in terms of service and gastronomy, finished off with the countless details that make a cruise such a unique experience. All the suites offer a breathtaking view of the sea (80% have a private terrace in teak) and each has a comfortable bathroom, dressing room, office and lounge, minibar, safe, television with individual DVD player, room service twice a day (and more if required). The restaurants can be accessed without reservation, at any time and with choice of table. En suite service is available 24/7. Commissioned in July 1996 and fully renovated in 2010, the Silver Wind remains one of the crown jewels of the Silversea fleet, and the most intimate. With a passenger to space ratio of 59, and a crew of 212 members for 296 passengers (i.e. a service ratio of 0.72), it achieves an unparalleled double record. On board the Silver Wind, the cuisine is refined and well thought out, inspired by the famous chefs of the Relais & Châteaux. Whether at the main restaurant, the gastronomic restaurant ‘Le Champagne’, the pool grill, or in the intimacy of the suites, every meal is a feast, both for the mind and the taste buds.

Insurance: We strongly recommend that passengers take out insurance to cover expenses for cancellation, assistance, repatriation and the risk of lost luggage. We offer coverage of this type with the company Européenne on favourable terms (see above).

Cancellation only: 6 % All-in coverage: 8 %

Adjustment of rates: The above rates have been determined as a function of the services noted in the programme and prevailing economic conditions at the time of its elaboration (February 2015). They could be revised, notably if a modification in the cost of transport due to fuel costs or exchange rate (€1 = USD 1.13) leads to an increase more than 3% of the total cost of the voyage.
