All instructors conducting any courses will be assessed/monitored by the Managing Director Michael Moore or the Manager Laurie Moore.

• Intervals for monitoring must be at least once every 12 months for existing instructors where no complaints are reported from trainees or in the case of driving lessons, also members of the general public.

• Feedback forms from trainees are assessed and if the performance from an instructor is rated as poor or very poor by over 25% of the group in one training session or by more than one driver per month on driving lessons. The Instructor will be monitored within 10 days to investi-gate any potential causes of the complaint.

• Any complaints from the general public will be evaluated by the Managing Director and if it’s felt necessary this may result in the instructor being monitored on a driving lesson.

All new instructors/trainers or those gaining new roles within the company will be subject to mentoring and regular assessments of their ability. This will be carried out the Manager Laurie Moore who will report back to the Managing Director Michael Moore.

The procedure is as follows.

• New/upgrading trainer must attend a minimum of one full training session carried out by Laurie Moore and is to observe the content, structure and aims of the training session.

• The new trainer will then be invited to have an imformal discussion with the lead instructor about how they feel about adapting to this new role/training course.

• The rules, requirements and procedures of how the course is conducted must be discussed to ensure the new trainer is familiar with the structure of all elements including the recording and checking of the paperwork and the identity of trainees.

• The new instructor will then work alongside an existing trainer conducting the same training sessions until the instructor feels that the new trainer is fully competent.

• The first session taught by the new instructor will be monitored by the Manager Laurie Moore or Michael Moore the Managing Director and if they feel the training met all the regulations and was sucessful in its aims set by the company and our customers aspirations, then the instructor will be authorised to conduct sessions for 12 months.

Records will always be kept of all mentoring and monitoring of trainers. The record will be in the form of a document written by the assessor detailing both good and poor aspects of the instructor’s ability and practices.

Any improvements required from the trainer will also be recorded and a record of a follow up

• The assessor Laurie or Michael Moore must be present at the start of the course

• Introductions and licence checks will be observed

• A minimum of 1.5 hours sitting in on the course while the trainer is conducting the session must be obseved and notes of their ability, skill and communication will be recorded.

• The next working day the feedback forms will be collected by the assessor to ensure they are all present and have positive feedback.

• A summary will then be written by the assessor and given to the trainer with any improve-ments made clear to the trainer and deadline for these to be met. With the option to require a follow up check if they are assessed to be a major issue that would be equal to the company not meeting requirements or rules set out by the accrediting body/organisation.
