-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------BACKGROUND:QANDILisaSwedishnon-profit,non-political,non-religioushumanitarianaidorganizationthatwasfoundedin1991inStockholm,Sweden.HavingcontinuouslyoperatedintheKurdistanRegioneversince,QANDIL’smainprioritiesofworkareconstructionandinfrastructureactivities,refugeeandIDPinitiatives,health,water,sanitationandhygiene,andcapacitybuilding.TheArabicandKurdishTeacherwillplayaleadingroleintheimplementationofQANDILandGIZ’s‘SocialSupportandLifeSkillProject’inDarashakranRefugeecamp.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------JOBDESCRIPTIONUnderthesupervisionoftheProjectCoordinator,thesuccessfulcandidatewillassistinthecreationofclassroommaterials,designofcurriculumandteachingofaBasicArabicandKurdishCourseforbothadultsandchildren.ThesuccessfulcandidateshouldhaveexperienceinteachingArabicandKurdishasasecondlanguage,particulartoArabicspeakers,aswellasanawarenessofprotectionissuesandappropriateteachingstrategiesforaidingpupilswithtrauma.Thecoursewillrunfor15days,thereforeitishighlydesirablethatthecoursecurriculumemphasizeslearningoutsideoftheclassroomandmotivatesparticipantstocontinuetheireducationbeyondthedurationofthecourse.Additionally,thesuccessfulcandidatewillberesponsibleformonitoringandtrackingtheprogressofpupilsandreportingthistotheProjectCoordinatorandProjectReportingOfficer.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------MAINDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
• Designcurriculumtobeimplementedover15days,mustbebothadultandchildfriendly• Design individual lessons that engage participants and build language knowledge and
retention.• Monitoring the overall progress of students, identifying and creating strategies to assist
participantswhoarestruggling.• Creatingtoolsthatallowlearnerstocontinuetheireducationoutsideofclassroomsettings,
bothduringthecourseandafterithasbeencompleted.• Workingwith theReportingOfficer andProjectCoordinator to collect timelydataon the
participantsandusethisfortheoverallreporting.• AttendrelevantmeetingstoidentifygapsandtoimproveQANDIL’scapacitytorespondto
futureneedsfortheproject.

• M.A.orB.A.inArabicorKurdish.• Experienceinteachingmixedabilitygroupsrequired.• ExperienceteachingIDPsand/orrefugeeshighlydesirable.• FluencyinArabicandKurdishisrequired.Englishskillishighlydesirable.• Excellent organizational skills and ability to create interesting and engagingmaterial for
groupsoflearnersrequired.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and willingness to share knowledge and
experience.• Proactive,motivatedandadaptableindividual.• Abilitytoworkwellinateamenvironment,handlemultipleassignmentsandmeetdeadlines.
