PVS Pathway Orientation Training Workshop for
Eurasian countries
8-11 October 2019, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan
PVS Pathway Success

The workshop in Nur-Sultan was organised under the Agreement between
Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute and the OIE.
Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute
"Kazakh scientific research veterinary Institute" LLP has a
contractual relationship with the OIE from 2014.
According to the task of the Ministry of agriculture for the
Institute within the framework of the program "Scientific
provision of veterinary welfare and food safety" are:
• to attract experts,
• prepare and submit applications to the OIE,
• conduct the OIE PVS Pathway Orientation Training
Workshop for Eurasia (8-11 October 2019, Nur-Sultan,
Kazakhstan).
Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute
Workshop objective - to share PVS Pathway experiences and
understanding on the PVS Tool to assist Veterinary Services to:
▪ better promote, prepare for, host and follow up on OIE PVS Pathway missions and
reports in their countries;
▪ enable independent application of PVS Tool methodologies by the VS within their own
country (PVS self-evaluation);
▪ share experiences and lessons learnt on the successful application and use of the PVS
Pathway in the region;
▪ have successful trainees participate as trainee experts on OIE PVS Pathway missions to
other countries within Europe and Asia;
▪ pending performance at the training and as trainee expert on a mission, allow select
trainees to gain full certification as OIE PVS Experts with the capacity to undertake
missions globally;
▪ enable your trained staff to participate in national or regional PVS Pathway Follow Up
workshops to undertake analysis and plan for implementation of recommendations to
strengthen Veterinary Services (at national and regional level).
This training workshop used the newly
developed 7th Edition of the PVS Tool
which contains new Critical
Competencies on antimicrobial resistance
and use and Veterinary Clinical Services.
