diverse and inclusive environment where mutual respect and equity are encouraged and valued. One that actively seeks to understand and incorporate views from dissimilar frames of reference. (Diversity Advisory Council April 15, 2005)

Governing Board:◦ At a recent Governing Board Study Session, Jerry

Walker presented some proposed revisions of the current Governing Board policies based on input he received from the community.

◦ Notably, the words diversity, inclusiveness, global and globalization were stricken from the document in most places and inclusiveness as a value was removed.

◦ Three board members spoke strongly about the importance of diversity as did several members of CEC.
