Diversity and Inclusion
Governing Board:◦ At a recent Governing Board Study Session, Jerry
Walker presented some proposed revisions of the current Governing Board policies based on input he received from the community.
◦ Notably, the words diversity, inclusiveness, global and globalization were stricken from the document in most places and inclusiveness as a value was removed.
◦ Three board members spoke strongly about the importance of diversity as did several members of CEC.
Proposed Change:

Recruit, hire, and promote in all job groups, and to ensure that all Human Resources (HR) employment selection and decision practices do not discriminate, nor tolerate discrimination, against any applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disabled, or veteran status.
