PureH2O & QuatreauAutumn 2010 - Present

During my time at Pureh2O I undertook new product innovation to develop a design language for the organisation and to produce a development pipeling toa llow the company to expand in to profitable niche areas in the marklet.

1. WALL MOUNTED CONCEPT: - The idea behind the wall mounted faucet concept was to utilise the touch tile technolgy already used within the Quatreau Tap System (QTS) and to open up a niche with in interior design that Quatreau was already being utilised within. A number of Quatreau Systems were being installed in bar areas in large residential builds. A number of interior designers had expressed interest in a wall mounted variation of the faucet. Concept one is the design. Intended for launch in Summer 2013 the tap would need minimal tooling and would be produced in batches of 50.

2. Quatreau Cento : - Quatreau entertains a place at the very pinncalce of the kitchen faucet market and it was decided that an option at a lower price point was needed. By stripping away a lot of the size of the tap, utilising signature component pieces and removing the expensive electronics a cost competitive alternative to Zip and Vivreau systems which was used as a secondary tap could be sold. Cento is being launched in February 2013.

3. Cento Station is intended to compete head to head with Zip in the commercial sector of the market in office kitchens and break out spaces. Quatreau has made some headway in these areas but clients were seeking a plumbed in all in one solution. Utilising Cento’s spout tool, membrane electronics and sticking with the FantasticTap styling Cento should allow the company to sell bar and purification equipment to the top commercial buyers. Cento is intended to be launched in April.

4. Blade is an attempt to bring a more modern, dynamic edge to the Quatreau Range. Starting from a blank sheet but employing stainless steel construction and elegant curves Blade is intended to fit in the most modern of kitchen designs with the added versatility of a linear control panel which can be bench or surface mounted for convenience for the customer. Its simple construction should make manufacturing and assembly gains on the current Quatreau tap and allow for placement in the mid to high end of the market.

5. Classic is the antipode of the blade concept and is intended to make the classic Quatreau style fit within a more traditional environment. utilising Grayhill rotary encoders within the taps allow the system to utilise the lower cost electronics found within the Cento range but with exceptional quality feedback to the user making selecting a water type a joy. The slight improvement in cost of electornics and metal works would be offset by the anticipated lower sales keeping the faucet in the same profit margin as the current Quatreau design.

PureH2O & QuatreauAutumn 2010 onwards

I joined PureH2O with the intent on bringing Product Development in to a company that had only ever acted in a trading capacity.

When I started they had been working on Quatreau for 2 years and my first task was to unite the contract developers in order to bring the design to market within 3 months. We did this and successfully launched the product at the start of 2011.

My next task was to reduce cost and to improve the technology that drove the faucet. I reduced cost by nearly 38% during my 2 years and shrunk the under counter form factor to 37% of its original size whilst making it more efficient to manufacture, install and for the end user.

The greatest amount of work however was in developing a design language and range of products to stop the Quatreau being an isolated product and make it an important division within the company.

Shown on this page is the product range that I developed to cover a range of customers within the Quatreau fold. They are intended to be released over 2014.

PureH2O & QuatreauAutumn 2010 - Present

The three major products that I engineered and launched can be found on this page. Although the concepts on the previous page are planned to be launched in the next 18 months the ones on this page are all commercially available. I brought all three of these designs from concept to market and was the lead designer on all aspectgs. I worked on the cocnept ideation, specifcation, design, engineering, testing and marketing.

I believe that I achieved a lot in the two years I was with PureH2O especially considering the company had no historic or terteriary experience in product development or intellectual property.

2. Quatreau Tap - One of the most luxurious taps on the amrket, machined from solid 316 Stainless Steel the Quatreau is a a powerful statement in any high end kitchen.. Clean lines and an innovative touchscreen interface make this tap a kitchen gadget that users want to show off again and again.

3. The hydrocell (see following page) is the “brains” behind the two faucets pictured., This water distribution centre takes mains tap water, filters it and either heats, chills or carbonates for a perfect beverage.
