I n today’s digital age we as Masons are able to seek further light and engage with Broth-
ers from all parts of the world. In this digital age that we now live in, provides us an op-
portunity in which connects us all seamlessly and shrinks the vast distances that once was
an obstacle to our Fraternal Brothers to come together. In today’s age we can share infor-
mation via podcasts, social media, many of the websites from Lodges around the world and
many other means of communication. With all of these tools that are now present to us, it does
not take away the importance or significance of our traditions within our Lodges. The question
that a Brother may want to consider is due we see the advantage of living in this age in which
we can engage with so many Brothers within the oldest Fraternity still in existence.
We have tools in which those that care to seek further light do not have to travel the vast dis-
tances to obtain the knowledge that one seeks. We are able to engage in group conversations
with Brothers from far distances in Masonic fellowship that brings us closer, we share many of
our experiences of our lives in social media with our Brothers are just a few examples of how
so many experience Masonry today. As Masonry has evolved throughout the years the Frater-
nity continues to evolve within society and we continue to strive to become that perfect ashlar.
Brothers should take advantage of this period in time in which we all can be further enlight-
ened ourselves and become closer to our Brothers than ever. I wanted to share with you some
sites that some may find interest in.

B rethren, June is upon us and the heat has been turned up as
well, please stay hydrated and use sunscreen. Thank you one and all for another successful month, we are growing here at Punta Gorda Lodge 115. Grand Lodge was very informative and educational of which I will share some hopeful solutions to aid our lodge with circum-scribe confusion. It is my hope that we can move for-ward with positive impact and have lodge house-keeping taken care of so that future Worshipful Masters and the lodge as a whole do not run into similar issues. I
will also go over all grand lodge legislation in a brisk bullet point presented man-ner. A great time was had at the District 23 Picnic. It was good to see brothers from Punta Gorda there. Over 100 brothers and their families were at the event, which made for quite a party. The DJ was great, the food was awesome, and the fellowship was priceless. It was so nice to join with others outside of meeting times. I am so grateful to those in the District that put their time and effort into putting this together. Our new DDGM, RW Dan Van Alstine, hopes to have more events like this
in an effort to unify our dis-trict even more. He had many informative and inspi-rational words to share, which I am sure he will share when he visits us in August. The meeting for June will be 6/20/ 2019 where lodge leg-islation resolution results will be announced. We are not having a picnic this year again, not for lack of trying but we will have a potluck summer dinner at the lodge. This potluck is scheduled for 6/22/2019 at 4:00, please bring a dish. B rothers, Well, Summer is here and it's hot all ready, If we
could get some rain, maybe it would cool things down a bit. I know it's seems that 2020 it is still a bit away but, it will be here before you know it and you will be having the Officers moving around. Several new Broth-ers have already shown an interest in getting inline to become Officers. And I would like to take the op-portunity to thank each one of them. This is what keeps
our Lodge strong and con-tinuing to move forward. One of those Brothers is Mark Wolf who has only been a member of our Lodge for a short time however, he has intention of taking over as your Lodge Secretary for next year. Mark and I have been working together for a short time now, and I'm very confident that he will be an excellent addition to the Lodge. He's a very quick learner and will do very well as your secretary. With that said, I'm going to make it short this month. Hope all is well with you

M y Brothers, we have suffered some terrible losses since the
first of the year. Our Brother Jerry Gordin passed and is now looking down on us with a smile as was his way. Our Brother Rich Bayly has lost his life mate a terrible thing. We have lost our Worshipful Grand Master at a time when he should have been at a peak in his Masonic career. I will not ask for prayers for them as they had lives filled with goodness and are now in the celestial grand-stand watching over and praying for us. I will ask for your prayers for those loved ones who have survived and face dark days ahead. I know these losses can nev-er be fully put behind. We should all be reminded once again that our time here is short and no matter
how old you are it is never too late to help others and be a good and true Mason. Great Architect of the Uni-verse please help our Broth-er and spouses of our departed brothers cope with these dark days and return them to good spirits, Amen. Peace Brothers. Bro. David Naples Chaplin

be sent a dues card without your picture, and replacement cards are $5.00 each. When uploading your picture, use as high a reso-
lution as possible, and your face should be positioned to take up as much of the photo square as possible. You should avoid hats, sun-
glasses, other individuals or animals in the picture.
Select ‘Save Profile’ to complete the process.

More Light– The Acacia
Acacia
The Acacia is a highly symbolic plant with both quasi-religious aspects and more modern day connections to occult and psychoactive aspects used in ritual practice.
Mackey, in his Encyclopedia of Freemasonry, says:
An interesting and important symbol in Freemasonry. Botanically, it is the acacia vera of Tournefort, and the mimosa nilotica of Linnaeus, called babul tree in India. The acacia arabica grew abundantly in the vicini-ty of Jerusalem, where it is still to be found, and is fa-miliar in its modern use at the tree from which the gum arabic of commerce is derived.
The acacia is called in the Bible Shittim, which is really the plural of Shittah, which last form occurs once only, in Isaiah 41:19, which reads “I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together…” . It was esteemed a sacred wood among the Hebrews, and of it Moses was ordered to make the tabernacle, the ark of the covenant, the table for the shewbread, and the rest of the sacred furniture (Exodus 25-27).
The sprig of acacia, then, in its most ordinary signification, presents itself to the Master Mason as a symbol of the immortality of the soul, being intended to remind him, by its ever-green and unchanging nature, of that better and spiritual part within us, which, as an emanation from the Great Architect of the Universe, can never die.
