Punctuation and Capitalization Notes (Write in Writing Notes Section)

Capital letters are used for the first words in all sentences and in many quotations. They are also used for the word I, whatever its position in a sentence.

example 1: I worked for two years as an assistant before I received a promotion.

example 2: Several people shouted, “Stop the car!”

example 3: Strong gusts of wind caused the pole to fall.

Comma

A Comma signals a brief pause.

A Comma may separate elements in a sentence, to set off part of a sentence, or group information in a sentence.

example 1: The forest animals include deer, squirrels, and rabbits.example 2: Ashley made a simple, polite request.example 3: I want to earn some money, so that I can buy my friend a gift.
