Positive Displacement Pumps,unlike centrifugals, displace100% of the liquid in the pumphead, regardless of dischargepressure

Efficiency losses are negligible ifthe viscosity of the pumpedliquid is greater thanapproximately 500 cSt,

Rotary Lobe Pump Principle

1. Inlet pressure transfers the fluid intothe void created by the diverging rotorlobes

3. The converging lobes displaces fluidinto the discharge port creating apressure differential across the pumphead

2. As the lobes continue torotate, liquid is trapped withinthe cavity between the lobes andtransported to the discharge sideof the pump
