PROVEN TECHNOLOGY WITH AN EXPANDED FIELD OF APPLICATIONREQUIREMENTS

The performance of the pump is increasingly deter-mined by modern control components. These include monitoring devices such as temperature sensors in the motor windings and bearings and various seal monito-ring devices including vibration sensors that constantly monitor the bearings and provide early warning of da-mage. The signals provided by the pump must be evaluated by the control systems.

Where star-delta combinations were used in the past to start the machines at higher pumping capacities, todaysoft starters and frequency converters are more and more frequently used.

With the use of soft starters, system components such as electrical distribution systems and pipelines are pro-tected. The usual current peaks and pipeline pressure shocks associated with direct or star-delta starts are avoided.

In recent years, frequency converters have moved into almost all areas of drive technology.

This makes it possible to change the rotational speed of the economical and robust three-phase asynchronous motor. This helps to optimally adjust the pump to meet the respective requirements and also save energy.

HOMA OFFERS APPROPRIATE SOLUTIONS.

In many cases, both the pump and control must meet the relevant guidelines and requirements in relation to explosion protection. All controls are available in a de-sign which allows users to operate ex-pumps in an ex-plosive atmosphere.

The ever-increasing demands placed on pumping sys-tems require the use of innovative technologies. This includes especially:

• reduction of energy consumption• reduction of maintenance costs• reduction of downtime through • preventive maintenance• early detection of faults• adaptation to environmental conditions• increased availability• connection to remote systems

THE SOLUTION: HOMA CONTROL SYSTEMSAUTOMATION SYSTEM HMC2

The HMC automation system, which has been in suc-cessful operation for many years, has been extended by an additional component. With the new HMC2-VICON pump control, the actual project-specific pump control-ler is combined with the HOMA-VICON vibration-analy-sing system. Simple parameterisation, operation and monitoring of the VICON system is now possible. Using appropriate communication components, the data can be sent via the Internet to any location in the world. In this way, pumping stations can easily be visualised, mo-nitored or locked centrally.

AUTOMATION SYSTEM HMC

Every treatment plant and every major public building is now equipped with Process Control Systems (PCS) or Building Management Systems (BMS). In these systems, all data relevant to the process are com-bined and processed in one centre. Faults and the operating status of the entire system can be viewed and logged here. Alerts for the maintenance or fault-clearing service also take place via the switch-board. The more detailed the information, the better the user is able to respond.

Therefore one or more corresponding messages are expected from each pump station. These may be iso-lated contacts in the simplest case. However, cross-process, standardised bus systems (Profibus DP, Ethernet) are frequently used here.

With the HMC automation system, HOMA o�ers the option of coupling. Municipal pumping stations are of-ten located away from central plant technology. Ho-wever, even here there is a need to centralise status signals from the pumping station. Therefore, HOMA provides the ability to edit the signals locally then send them economically via landline or GPRS connec-tion to a central station depending on customer speci-fications. An exchange of information between sever-al pumping stations is also possible.

CONTROL BOXES W, D AND U

Switchgears W, D and U for connecting directly to the pump cable.The devices are intended for portable pumps and have a connector for direct connection to an electrical outlet. They are available in versions for manual operation, with just motor protection or with a level control function.

CONTROL UNITS BX, PS

Control units BX, PS for level control with float switch or pitot tube with bubbler system in wall mounting housing for connection of 1 or 2 pumps with monito-ring functions.

CONTROL UNIT PCM

The new PCM pump control sets new standards in the operation and monitoring of wastewater pumping and sewage pits. The smartphone APP HOMApp faci-litates the configuration, commissioning, diagnostics and troubleshooting of the system with its extensive functionality.

DescriptionThe new PCM pump control sets stan-dards in the operation and monitoring of wastewater disposal units and pump stations.

The control consistently implements the requirements for the particular applicati-on of a control in a sewage pumping sta-tion. For a cost-optimised design, a basic confi guration was used in the control, which fully meets the need for a reliable system.

In developing the new PCM pump cont-rol, value was placed on using innovative technology to ensure maximum comfort when handling the pump system. All the basic control and monitoring functions are available using the control.

Available for iOS and Android operating systems. The Smartphone APP HOMApp facilitates the confi guration, commissio-ning, diagnostics and troubleshooting of the system with its extensive functionali-ty.

The HOMA app provides intuitive and convenient operation via a graphical user interface.

The controller communicates with HOMApp via Bluetooth. This wireless connection ensures communication even in poorly accessible pump works without a GSM or GPRS network.

The data stored on the smartphone from the controller can then be connected to the available network later.

The controller is high quality and compact, and is equipped with a main switch and a motor protection switch.

Their compact design, both for 1 pump and for 2 pumps, is suitable for installati-on in economical narrow air columns.

HSK - MODULAR CONTROL PANELS

ApplicationHOMA HSK are modular pump controls for 1 to 4 pumps, specially designed for the operation of submersible pumps in drainage and sewage applications.

HSK solve many different tasks based on a standardized control unit. Suitable for pumps 4 kW DOL to pumps 22 kW star delta start.

Based on the unit size (switching capacity), the respective control system is available in a standard version, the basic equipment of which meets all the essential requirements of a high-perfor-mance pump control system.

In addition, the modular design of the HSK program allows a particularly flexible completion or extension of the desired system with regard to the follo-wing components:

• Type of level detection• Additional options in the • control unit• Alarm and remote control• Other options• Installation in outdoor cabinet

The main advantages of this modular design of the entire HSK program are the uniform operating concept and the high flexibility of use.Operation and settings are made via an easy-to-use TFT touch color display using symbols and plain text display. All operating modes and parameters can be easily queried and changed via the menu navigation.

Password protection prevents unautho-rized changing of operating parameters. The basic equipment includes control electronics for one-two-three- or four-pump operation, rotating field and phase failure monitoring, contactor, motor protection, connections for thermal con-tacts, float switch and level probe.

The control is suitable for the use of pumps with one as well as with two thermal contacts. The error message of a thermal contact is stored in a zero-vol-tage safe manner - an important function for use in hazardous areas.

The error message must be acknowled-ged by the user and remains stored even in the event of a power failure or battery failure. All parameters of the control are stored in an EEPROM and remain stored independent of mains or battery.

HMC / HMC2 - AUTOMATION SYSTEMApplication HMCHMC is a multifunctional system for controlling, monitoring and observing of pump stations.

It is distinguished by a flexible structure and high degree of modularity. Through individual configuration, almost any cu-stomer wish can be fulfilled. The system can be programmed and assigned parameters for different requirements in the pumping stations.

HMC does not only control pumps - in addition, compressors, agitators and aerators can be easily integrated. It is configured individually, whereby the compilation of the individual compo-nents is based on standard modules and standard software. All parameterisation and adjustment is made using the gra-phic display on the logic module, whose interface is tailored to the design of the plant. Telecontrol substations from any manufacturer can be integrated.

Depending on the customer‘s wishes, switching devices made by certain pro-ducers may be taken into account. (e.g. soft starters, frequency converters)

ApplicationThe KS switchgears can be customised individually depending on requirements. This enables standard fittings such as heating, alarm lights, potential equali-sation bars and locking cylinders to be customised individually as required.
