Principal’s report
Dance Concert
WOW! What an unbelievable performance on Tuesday
night! It never ceases to amaze me just how much
talent we have at Junee North. Our dance concert
‘Under the Big Top’ was simply fantastic.
Congratulations to all of our students who not only
performed brilliantly, but were so enthusiastic during
our 10 week dance program. Thank you to Josh our
amazing dance teacher. I trust all of our families
enjoyed the show as much as I did. Lots of photos later
in the newsletter.
Destini and Emily ready to entertain with KM!
Little Athletics visit
Yesterday our students were treated to a special visit.
Darren Wensor, the Coaching & Development Officer
for Little Athletics NSW, spoke to several classes about
Little Athletics and shared some of the equipment used
by our athletes. We are very fortunate in Junee to have
a wonderful Little Athletics program with many of our
students participating. Our thanks to Janet Howell for
organising Darren’s visit.
Stage 2 swimming program
Well done to the Stage 2 students who tomorrow will
complete their ten day swimming program. The
children are to be congratulated on their efforts and
the enthusiasm displayed. Although ten days does not
provide enough time to get every child swimming with
correct technique, all students have made progress.
We are keen to continue to offer this program each
year to all Stage 2 children. It is vitally important that
parents now follow up on these lessons by ensuring
the children are taken to the pool regularly. This will
ensure regular practice of the skills taught. A huge
thank you to Mrs Commins and Mrs Kimber who have
taken on this program and put in an enormous amount
of effort and time to attain their accreditation. This will
now ensure that Junee North can continue to run this
program with qualified staff. Thank you also to Karen
Hemsley and Tracey Edwards for their assistance with
the groups.
Band performance
Next Monday we have a very special concert
happening in our hall. At 9:30, music students from
Sydney Grammar School will be bringing their school
band to put on a performance. The school is currently
doing a tour around local regions and we are very
fortunate that they have selected Junee North as one
of their venues.
Lions Public Speaking
Next Tuesday we will be hosting the second Junee
Lions Club Schools Public Speaking competitions.
Students in Years 3-6 have been preparing and
delivering speeches to their classes, with the top 2
from each class being selected to represent Junee
North. Students will be asked to deliver a prepared
speech, and an impromptu speech. This year the Stage
3 students will compete in the morning session,
commencing at 9:30. Stage 2 will commence their
session at 12:00.
Term 3 ends
What a huge term this has been. Well done to all of
our students for their fantastic learning efforts and
positive behaviour. Get ready for another busy term!
Term 4 commences for all students and staff on
Tuesday 7 October. Have a lovely, safe holiday.

Girls PSSA Cricket
Our best wishes to our girls’ cricket team. Next
Tuesday they play in the next round of the PSSA
Knockout. The girls previously defeated Junee Public
and will now face Wagga Public. Thank you to the girls
and to Mr Baldock for giving up many lunch hours to
get in lots of practice. Good luck!
Weekend Rugby League Champs
Congratulations to the members of both the Junee
Under 10 & Under 12 rugby league teams. Both teams
will be playing in the grand final at Tumut this
weekend. The Under 10’s face Kangaroos, while the
Under 12s will meet Tumut. Our best wishes to all!
Backyard League
This term we were very fortunate to have been invited
to be part of the NRL’s ‘Backyard League’ skills
development program. Over several weeks, Michael
Henderson from the NRL visited our school and took
Stage 2 and 3 classes through a series of fun drills and
skills. To top this all off, last week every child in Stage 2
and 3 was presented with their own league ball! Plus
we received a bag of balls for our school. What a very
generous donation – thank you NRL!
Riley and Luke, along with all of Stage 2 & 3, were very
pleased to have been given their own league ball
What’s happening in our school?

Students in Stages 2 and 3 have been busy learning
about and practising their public speaking skills. Next
week 2 students from each class will represent at the
Junee Lions Public Speaking competition. Entrants are
still being finalised – good luck to the successful
participants!

Ag Vision helpers
Congratulations to the staff at Junee High School on
another successful Ag Vision last week. Several Junee
North students volunteered to assist on the day and
did a wonderful job. Well done to Taylah Hackett,
