CALL TO ORDER: President Cook called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

MINUTES: The minutes of the November 20, 2017, meeting were approved as submitted.

FINANCIAL AND BUDGETARY ITEMS: The November 2017 financial statements were accepted as submitted.

LEGISLATIVE AND RULE-MAKING ITEMS: 21 NCAC 08F .0103 and .0502 were presented for final review along with two public comments received after the November 20, 2017, rule-making. Mr. Williams and Ms. Brown moved to approve 21 NCAC 08F .0103 and .0502 as published in the NC Register Volume 32 Issue 08 on October 16, 2017. Motion passed with seven (7) affirmative votes and zero (0) negative votes.

NATIONAL ORGANIZATION ITEMS: The Board reviewed the draft response to the quarterly NASBA Regional Director’s Focus Questions prepared by President Cook and Mr. Brooks. Messrs. Williams and Winstead moved the responses be submitted as presented with changes as discussed. Motion passed.

STATE AND LOCAL ORGANIZATION ITEMS: The Board reviewed the Records Retention and Disposition Schedule as prepared by the Division of Archives and Records

EXECUTIVE STAFF REPORT December 2017

Anniversary at the Board: Phyllis Elliott’s first day of work at the Board was December 2, 1985. Thanks for your 32 years of service! NC A&T State University CPE Conference: On December 1, Bob and David presented “Focus on the Profession” as part of NC A&T State University’s annual CPE conference in Greensboro. NC State Accounting Practicum: Five students in the NCSU Masters of Accounting Program presented their practicum project of preparing the procedures for the annual Board CPE audit of licensees to David and Bob on December 4. Breakfast with the NCACPA: On December 11, Bob and David had their monthly meeting with Sharon Bryson and Mark Soticheck of the NCACPA. NC Occupational Licensing Board (OLB) Holiday Networking Luncheon: Bob organized the luncheon for OLB Executives and attorneys that was held on December 14. Bob, David, and 25 other OLB representatives attended. Lunch with the NCACPA and the AICPA: On December 20, Bob and David had a lunch meeting with Sharon and Mark from the NCACPA and the AICPA’s Suzanne Jolicoeur and Skip Braziel. Skip is the AICPA’s new Vice President for State Regulatory and Legislative Affairs
