It was wonderful to have so many special visitors last week for our Mums’ Marvellous Maths day. Thank you to everyone for coming along and enjoying the day. To everyone who needed time away from work, please thank your boss and your colleagues for their support. I hope Mothers’ Day was special for everyone.
Our P&C always work hard to achieve great things for the school. We couldn’t manage without them. Their last fundraising target was the rubber softfall under the playgym. This was a great safety improvement and also a great “laundry” improvement when everyone wasn’t taking the bark chip home in their shoes and socks. Their new fundraising target is a shade cover for the playgym. Since the large tree was removed the area is no longer shaded at lunch and recess. The good news is that between the P&C and school we are able to now afford the shade cover. I have signed the cheque for the deposit today and work should commence soon. Thank you to Josh Bass for his support in getting the project organised.
This week is Volunteers Week – the whole school would like to thank our many volunteers for everything they do. A special thank you to the P&C and canteen workers, because the school would be a very sad place without our canteen. To all our classroom helpers – your assistance is always appreciated and the extra help you give our staff and students doesn’t go unnoticed.
Finance training for the office staff is continuing. We thank everyone for their patience in this transition time. Mr Mason and Mrs Cowburn are so efficient and carry so much information in their heads it makes them difficult to replace. Thank you for being understanding while they are away. Now is also a good time to start and think about payment deadlines. When the new system comes into use on Tuesday 13th June (just after the long weekend) we will no longer be able to accept payments after the set deadline. This isn’t because we are being mean and nasty but because the system won’t accept the payment.

STEWART HOUSE DONATION DRIVE: Envelopes were handed out today. Families are invited to place a donation of $2 in the envelope and return to the school by next Monday 16th May. All donation envelopes received by this date will go into a lucky draw to win a $4,000 holiday.
