The Monthly
Messenger June 2017
A PRAYER
Mark Olsen
Come, Holy Spirit;
Captivate your church in the obedience of your com-mand, That we might give ourselves to you today: All that we have, All that we are - to be totally, unconditionally yours for your using. Take us away from ourselves and use us up - as you will, when you will, where you will, with whom you will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our summer bible study is going to be held at St. Michael's Lutheran Church on West Genesee St. The June meeting will begin at 9:30am. Emily Zieres who attends BBB here at Atonement will be leading the study entitled "All anew: Ready or Not." Kelly Fryer explores “All anew” in a three-session Bible study that shares the theme of the 2017 Women of the ELCA Triennial Gathering in Minneapolis. Any one needing a ride call the church office, 315-492-9065, by 8 a.m. the morning of the meeting so we can get you a ride to the bible study.

GOOD WORDS FROM AN OLD FRIEND…
Dear Pastor Rodgers:
Thank you for your recent note.
As you probably know, I have joined the Luther-an Church here in Fairport. However I’ll always have many fond memories of my days at Atonement.
Happy Easter to you and all my friends at Atonement.
Sincerely, Dorothy Phillips
PROCESSION OF NEIGHBORS…..
The rain and chilly temperatures may not have been the ideal weather for a stroll
around Syracuse on Sunday, May 7th, but still more than 200 people took to the
streets on the city's north side to learn more about their neighbors. The Proces-
sion of Neighbors was put on by InterFaith Works and Catholic Charities. Gabrielle
Lucivero walked with them to find out why they support the local refugee community.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER…
Wednesday Night Community Dinners
Wednesday Night Community Dinners and Worship have become a central part of our outreach.
We average around 50 dinners a week, and 35 or so for worship.
We could not serve the community in this way without
the help of dedicated volunteers like Steve and Lynn Strumlok who are regular helpers both serving and
cleaning up! Jean and Barry Graumenz were a great help too, until “retiring” this year. Mike Strumlok and Krista LaPoint are our greeters. Even Fred Watts, the
new Day Care Director stopped by to help out. We give thanks to God for them and all the others who give of their time and energy to make this ministry possible.
