Subject : ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2014 – PERSONALITY TEST.

Dear Candidate,

With reference to your candidature for the above mentioned examination, I am directed to request you topresent yourself at the Commission’s Office, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069 for the purposeof Personality Test to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission as per date and time indicated atthe top of this letter.

2. Your admission at the stage of Personality Test of the Engineering Services Examination, 2014 will bepurely provisional subject to your satisfying prescribed eligibility conditions for the said examination. If onverification at any time before or after the Personality Test, it is found that you do not fulfill any of the eligibilityconditions, your candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the Commission.

3. You may bring this letter with you when you come for the Personality Test and on arrival, report to theReception Officer of the Commission at Gate No.1.

4. You may note that NO REQUEST FOR CHANGE/POSTPONEMENT OF INTERVIEW DATE/TIME intimatedto you will be entertained. If you fail to present yourself before the Personality Test Board on the scheduled dateand time, you will be treated as ABSENT at the Personality Test. No further correspondence will be entertainedin this regard and you will not be called again for Personality Test for the Engineering Services Examination,2014.

5. You should fill the T.A. Bills, in duplicate with particulars in respect of both the onward and return journeysand hand them over to the Officers concerned of the Accounts Branch as soon as you report to theCommission’s Office for the Personality Test. The Commission’s contribution towards your travelling expenseswould be paid to you in cash on the date of Personality Test itself (applicable to Outstation Candidates only). You should collect the same from the Cashier of the Commission’s Office before you leave the Commission’sOffice.

6. You should bring the following original certificates/items in the Commission’s office when you presentyourself for the Personality Test. A check list for submission of documents at the PT Boards is also availablewith the PT schedule in this regard.

i) Original Matriculation/Higher Secondary/equivalent certificate or Marks Sheet in lieuof certificate containing Date of Birth (with a copy thereof) issued by the University/Boardconcerned for verification of your date of birth.

ii) Degree or equivalent certificate in original (with a copy thereof) issued by the Universityconcerned for verification. In case you possess higher qualifications, please also bring theoriginals (with a copy thereof) for verification.

iii) Scheduled Caste/Schedule Tribe Certificate in prescribed proforma /Other BackwardClasses Certificate in prescribed proforma with latest Creamy Layer Clause 2013 etc (copyenclosed) issued by the Competent Authority in the District to which you belong, with seal inEnglish/Hindi of Issuing Authority. The name of the Caste/Sub-Caste mentioned in the CasteCertificate must be according to the Central SC/ST/OBC List for this purpose.

iv) Physically Handicapped Certificate (with a copy thereof) in the prescribed formatissued by the competent authority (Applicable for candidates claiming Physically Handicappedstatus).

v) Two passport size photographs (4cm. X 5 cm. Approx.) taken recently, say within thepreceding three months.

vi) The enclosed Address Form duly filled in and signed.

7. Please note that in case you fail to bring the original documents in support of your age, educationalqualification(s), caste/category and Persons with Disabilities status, age relaxation etc., you will not be allowedto appear for Personality Test and no TA will be paid, and your candidature for this examination will becancelled. The original Certificates/Degrees/Documents etc., will be returned to you after verification by theCommission’s office on the day of Personality Test.

8. You may also note that even if you do not present yourself for the Interview/Personality Test, you arerequired to submit the Original Certificates/Degrees/Documents etc. called for in Para-6 above to theCommission for verification so as to reach Commission’s Office within a period of three (3) days of the date fixedfor your Interview/Personality Test, otherwise your candidature for the Examination will be cancelled and you willnot be entitled to know/claim your detailed result.

9. Kindly make six photocopies of the enclosed Attestation Form. Kindly make six photocopies of theenclosed Attestation Form. Each of the seven Attestation Forms are required to be filled in, signed in ink and apassport size photograph pasted on each of them. The seven Attestation Forms alongwith the duly filled inenclosed Compulsory Information Sheet for ESE-2014 are required to be be submitted immediately after theinterview at Railway Board office in Room No.304/305, Rail Bhawan, Railway Board, Raisina Road, New Delhi inperson/through speed post/Fax (011-23389050)/ Email (ddegr@rb.railnet.gov.in of egr1305@gmail.com).

10. Your specific attention is invited to Para 18 of the Rules of the examination available at our website interms of which you will receive separate intimation regarding medical examination from the Ministry of Railways.

11. Mobile Phones, Pagers, Cameras, Bluetooth, Recording device, i-pads, pods, palm tops or any otherelectronic devices/appliances etc are not allowed inside the premises of U.P.S.C.. Any infringement of theseinstructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from the UPSC examinations/selections. Candidatesare advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones to the UPSCpremises as arrangement for their safekeeping cannot be assured.

12. Any change in your postal address should be communicated to this office at once.

13. If you are a physically disabled candidate and require any assistance during the Personality Test, thesame may be intimated to this office immediately to enable us to make suitable arrangements.

14. The discrepancies noticed while checking your Detailed Application Form/enclosures are conveyedalongwith the Summon letter despatched through Speed Post. You are requested to produce correct originaldocuments in support of your claim; on the day of Personality Test.
