History of the town History of Pszczyna town and its

districts had been noted for hundreds of years but Pszczyna district as seperate administrative government did not appear until 1407. Though, areas around Pszczyna expressed its characteristic features earlier. The beginnings of the town date from 1303, however Pszczyna was founded much more earlier.

The castle

Pszczyna parkPszczyna park – transformed from Renaissance garden, and later from 18th century formal garden, has been a very important part of the castle with area of 48 hectares. Comprising the Castle Park, the Station Park and the so-called Wild Promenade, blending into the background of the mature woodland, picturesque clusters of shrubs and various streams within the Castle Park grounds may be found numerous small items of architecture: the Ludwikowka court, a teahouse on an island, the Chinese Gate, an ice cellar, wayside shrines and humpbacked bridges. Nowadays, a large section of Wild Promenade has been converted into a well kept golf course.
