The third requirement c) is fulfilled if either:

- the chair has at least 5 supporting points and the maximum off set [m] of the back rest of the chair is smaller than or equal to 1.34 x [t] (stability dimension [t], see 6.18 of EN 1335-1:2000) when tested in accordance with 5.4.1 of EN 1335-3:2000; or - the chair does not overbalance when tested in accordance with 5.4.2 respectively 5.4.3 of EN 1335-3:2000.

Requirement Information for use Each chair shall be accompanied by information for use in the language of the country in which it will be delivered to the end user. It shall contain at least the following details: a) Information regarding the intended use; b) If the chair is fitted with adjusting mechanisms: instruction for operating the adjusting mechanisms; c) Instruction for the care and maintenance of the chair; d) If the chair is fitted with seat height adjustments with energy accumulators, an additional note is required pointing out, that only trained personnel may replace or repair seat height adjustment components with energy accumulators; e) If the chair is fitted with castors: information on the choice of castors in relation to the floor surface.

Remark No adjustable parts available. The intend use of the visitors chair is self-explanatory. That’s why information for use is not essential. Information regarding care and maintenance will be found in a separate maintenance guide on "www.fourdesign.dk".

Strength Durability test Tilt drop test The chair is to be fixed against sliding away. For fixing hinges or similar fittings mustn’t to be used. For tilting to the front / rear the seat is to be loaded with a proof load of 85kg (filled with steal grit). For tilting sideways the seat is to be loaded with a proof load of 42.5kg (filled with steal grit). The proof load is to be fixed on the centre of the seat. The chair is to tilt on the backrest to the front / back /sideways till both legs are 30 mm above the proof surface (sleek surface, coated particle board). Afterwards the chair is falling free to the proof surface. The force to the backrest should be in an angle of 90° on the middle of the backrest, 300 mm above the seat. Cycles: 10.000 per side (contract use) 4.000 per side (domestic use) Test frequency: 10 cycles/minute Remark Test no. 1 till no. 4 (see pictures below) Each 10.000 cycles No visible damages after the tests.
