Angels often stand behind prophets and ministry gifts when they are preaching. We have seen

this many times in our services. Angels often stand on the platform. They are involved in what

    we are preaching and declaring.

I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I

    have prepared.

Beware of him, and obey his voice, PROVOKE him not; for he will not pardon your

transgressions: for my name is in him.

But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine

enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. (Exodus 23:20-22)

Angels can even be provoked. God warned Israel not to provoke the angel sent before them.

Disobedience to the word and voice of the Lord can provoke angels. Provoke is the Hebrewword marar meaning to make bitter or make enraged. This is a sobering thought. Angels dont

like when Gods word is disobeyed. Angels place high honor on the word of the Lord. They are

committed to God and his word.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD

opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and

chariots of fire round about Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17)

Angels are therefore absolutely committed to Gods word and seeing it come to pass. They are

faithful servants of God, and faithful to us as well when we walk in and obey Gods word. The

prophet Elisha was aware of the heavenly host, and prayed for God to open the eyes of his

    servant:

The Lord also opened the eyes of Balaam to see an angel in the way.

Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the

way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.

    (Num.22:31)

This angel was sent to withstand Balaam, who was called by Balak to curse Israel. Balaam was

spared and prophesied blessing over Israel which enraged Balak.

We dont want to provoke angels. We want them on our side assisting us. They make great

helpers, but are formidable enemies. When we submit to God prophetic purposes they will be

our friends and not our enemies. They will help us succeed and fulfill Gods prophetic word

    and plan for our lives.
