An appointment as an Associate Pastor. I understand that I will be given a temporary account to complete my Pastor Profile to be considered by the Cabinet for such an appointment.

An appointment to an Extension Ministry position. I understand that the Extension Ministry Committee of the BOM would require a packet of materials related to the organization and my position, as well as a separate interview, in the early spring of 2021. Upon submitting this application request, with the subsequent Biographical Form, Autobiographical Statement, and a photo of yourself, the Center for Clergy Excellence will place you on the “Applying for Provisional Membership” track in UMCARES. The expanded application packet will be available for download from UMCARES. That packet contains detailed instructions and specific deadlines toward your interview with the Board of Ordained Ministry. Email this 5-page document and your photograph to the Center for ClergyExcellence@vaumc.org by August 15 to be included in this year’s class of applicants. If at any time you choose to withdraw from the process, you may do so by sending an email to Rev. Lindsey Baynham (LindseyBaynham@vaumc.org). You may be asked to reimburse the Virginia Conference for the cost of assessment materials if you withdraw after October 1.
